This song was one of Top Gear's top 5 driving songs (Highway Star & Bat Outta Hell were in the list), but it took till after I heard it used in connection with a Russel Swift stunt driving demonstration where the thought of 'this could be a power song'

Tonight Im gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world turning inside out yeah!
And floating around in ecstasy
So dont stop me now dont stop me
cause Im having a good time having a good time
Im a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
Im a racing car passing by like lady godiva
Im gonna go go go
Theres no stopping me
Im burning through the sky yeah!
Two hundred degrees
Thats why they call me mister fahrenheit
Im travling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Dont stop me now Im having such a good time
Im having a ball dont stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Dont stop me now (cause Im havin a good time)
Dont stop me now (yes Im havin a good time)
I dont want to stop at all
Im a rocket ship on my way to mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite Im out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to
Oh oh oh oh oh explode
Im burning through the sky yeah!
Two hundred degrees
Thats why they call me mister fahrenheit
Im travling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you
Dont stop me dont stop me
Dont stop me hey hey hey!
Dont stop me dont stop me ooh ooh ooh (I like it)
Dont stop me dont stop me
Have a good time good time
Dont stop me dont stop me ah
Im burning through the sky yeah!
Two hundred degrees
Thats why they call me mister fahrenheit
Im travling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you
Dont stop me now Im having such a good time
Im having a ball dont stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Dont stop me now (cause Im havin a good time)
Dont stop me now (yes Im havin a good time)
I dont want to stop at all

Actually, Rod, that's the song I erroneously referred to as "Supersonic Man" in DW2 -- the song he uses to get to Bunko's amusement palace when it's beseiged by boomers in an attempt to draw him out.
Or maybe it's called "Supersonic Man" in Warriors' World. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Heh, it must be an obscure Queen song if it slipped though the pre-reader catchers, heck as I said in the first post, I hadn't heard it till Top Gear & that stunt driving show. Well you've got both a Concordance entry and a Offical Song list update out of it now.
It's on Queen's Jazz album if your looking for it, not to mention being on the greatist hit ones...now I gotta work out why I missed it on the greatest hit disk at hand...

Actually, no, not very obscure at all; I remember hearing it on the radio in my teens. And it's certainly on the one "Greatest Hits" tape I had through the 80s and 90s...

...or radio station playlist politics?
Okay got'ya.Tis to me an obscure Queen song which should receive more airplay than it currently does - next time I hear a song requestage call-in slot on the local FM radio, I'll put it up. Upset the Bohemian Rapsody, Another One bites the Dust & Radio Ga-Ga lovers.
Now to find a local FM station that still has a request line and's not a glorified iPod Shuffle.....

Mmm. Haven't heard "Radio Ga-ga" in a long time.
If you really want to upset the playlist nazis, ask for "Barcelona" by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe...

This is mostly a comment on Rod H's tagline about 4 posts up, specificly:
"Every car must have a copy of Queen's greatest hits, its a law of nature."
That line reminds me of a book I read by Terry Prachett called 'Good Omens' (not part of his Diskworld series but similarily odd). In the book one character comments that any tape left in a car for more than a month (I think) transforms into a copy of Queen's Greatest Hits.__________________

Just as a footnote, Pratchett co-wrote "Good Omens" with Neil Gaiman of "Sandman". And if you've never the seen the book, dear reader, run, do not walk, to your local bookstore and get a copy.

Chiming in for the Joy that is Good Omens, definetly a non-standard take on deities. And well worth the time it takes to read.-Terry
