Song Queue from DW II Chapter 14
Song Queue from DW II Chapter 14
#1
While reading chapter fourteen this song started playing on my mp3 player. It was started playing while I was reading the scene where Doug and Lisa were with each other.
CHANTAL KREVIAZUK "Leaving on a Jet Plane"
It seems like a gate song to me for while Doug leaves, but it seemed to really fit the scene when it came up.

It is no doubt among the candidates for a Gate song he already has listed in his helmet, although the vast majority of those are "going home" songs and this is more of a "leaving home".
Hm. My mind, clouded by cold medicine, is wandering in strange and awful paths today. This song reminds me of a parody that I have on a CD:
There's so many times we've crashed and burned,
Seems like the colonel would finally learn
Our Russian jets don't make good submarines.
We fly out to protect our nation
And use seat bottoms for floatation.
The water's warm, and we're good swimmers too.
So kiss me and smile for me,
Call my folks in Tripoli,
Tell them that Khadafi made me go.
I'm a Libyan on a jet plane,
I don't know if I'll be back again.
Muammar, I hate to go.
Aircraft carrier J.F.K
Come to blow our chemical plant away
But we keep telling them it's just pharmaceutical.
So miss me and pray for me
Bow down to the East for me
Kneel and gently kiss my butt good-bye
I'm a Libyan on a jet plane,
Don't know if I'll be back again.
Libyan on a jet plane,
Don't know if I'll be back again

Nods I agree. It just seemed to me with Doug thinking about Lisa a his first best friend in a very long time and the emotional investment that he has put into this world might make it seem like a not so close approx. home for him. Of course this will probabily happen Doug goes in his travels through the multiverse.
