You know, the copy in the C&C section of the fukufics.com forum is not behind a registration wall.
There's also been a bunch of updates to Sic Semper Morituri there, including a Harry Potter cross.

Do a search for Daniel Gibson, or use this link. It seems to be missing some of the side stories, and the fanart, which I don't know where to find if you haven't saved a copy. This doesn't have the latest pilots in Nerima from fukufics added, he might want some few more chunks C&C ed before doing so.

He writes wonderful sceens, snipits, and chapters, but either doesn't know how to or doesn't care to bridge from one section to the next. Therefore, all his stories feel disjointed and off-kilter. It's a style that works when he's pushing the more Lovecraftian aspects of the plot and universe, but I find it irritating in the lighter sections or when I read several chapters in a row at any point in the story.

I have to admit that I can't find more than the first few chapters on MediaMiner. And the site won't let me register to log in, either, it never sends the confirmation email.

It shouldn't need registration.
What media miner calls chapters 1-27 of SSM are prologue -57 of SSM. (58 and 59 have not been even released on fukufics.) Likewise, the last bit on mediaminer of Pilots in Nerima is 18, and the latest round up for C&C on fukufics starts with 19.
Those are what I see with javascript off. I have no idea how the site works with it on.

a) Figuring the stuff out, like with Vathara's Embers, is part of the fun for me. (If Vathara hasn't been eaten by the project again, this may update later today or tomorrow.)
b) I think some of it adds, whatsit, verisimilitude to the depictions of combat and intelligence struggles. IRL, I would not be particularly good at either, so being confused and overwhelmed by a fictional description at first glance would be expected. The difference between this, and something that is simply poorly written or ill thought out is that the latter stays confusing.
c) Given how much of the long term events have been telegraphed, what is there besides mystery, action, and character development to hold the reader?
