So, allowing Vista to run its latest
"update" has converted some keys into hotkeys that interrupt
all programs.
Broken keys (subverted via copy/paste):

...phew. Okay, problem resolved.
Turns out that my KEYBOARD had suddenly gotten it's 'windows Start Key' (and whose bright fucking idea was -that- piece of shit, anyway?) stuck,
which meant that the computer wasn't getting the actual signals I was entering, but erroneous hotkeys.
Which was, ah, a problem.
Researching what the hell these things were that I was hitting let me fix it. Sorry to've bothered y'all. ^_^;

Yea. That Windows key has got some problems with it. I have it on the laptop keyboard, but not on the external keyboard I have. As a matter of fact, the
keyboard I have is the exact same as on a laptop, but with -out- the windows key. So I'm happy.

To my knowledge, the Apple camp had something to do with inspiring that little bit of business. Damn handy to have, too, if you're good with keystroke
commands. You can do shit a hell of a lotfaster with a keyboard than a mouse anydays of the week if you know how to use the keyboard shortcuts.
Most people I know who have the unfortunate luck to get a keyboard with a windows start key simply pry out the keys off the keyboard ![[Image: happy.gif]](http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif) they also do the same
for the shut down, sleep, and restart keys if applicable

Why on earth would they do something like that? I myself love having shortcut keys like those (especially those wonderful universal keys for media players).

It's a question of preferences, isn't it? To some people, the Start key (and related keyboard shortcuts) are
absolutely brilliant. Because they're great for people who actually use 'em.
But if you don't, they're just a potential source of irritation - just another thing to go wrong, or something you're liable to hit by accident.
