Speaking of big booms, apparently a major meteoroid exploded over Scandinavia not long ago, and someone got it on tape/digital. I haven't been able to make the http://spaceweather.com/glossary/fireba ... 7jan09.htm]copy linked off of Fark.com work on my system, but if anyone else knows anything about it, I'd love to hear what it looked like.

in life imitating art style, it looks like the damn meteor impact from Armageddon, only there's just the one of them - bright blue arc-trail, massive friggin light at the front.. amazing!

Wow, I wish I'd been there to see that. I've seen a fireball once -- bright, brilliant, with a green-tinted trail behind it; it so surprised me it
stopped my part of an argument with Peggy cold. But I never saw anything like that video. (Which, btw, looked like a surveillance or security camera, so not so
much a lucky cameraman in the right place at the right time...)
