On the forum I found this (SB or SV, I forget which) the first response to the pics was (roughly) "the kind that won the war."

Heh.
For anyone else who didn't know, #2.
Reveal the spoiler for why, if you haven't already figured it out (or known it).
#1 has a yield sign, which means he needs to wait for #3 (although in the absence of a yield sign, he would still have to wait for #3, as that's the default -- you yield right of way to the vehicle to your right) and #2 (the yield sign is for all directions of traffic at this intersection). Assuming the illustration is to scale, #3 needs to wait for #2 to clear the intersection before turning. I could get into a bit more detail with more implied default behaviors at unmarked or insufficiently marked intersections, but I've spoiled the joke enough already. Also, this analysis is valid in New Jersey; your local traffic laws may vary. But that yield sign means #1 will always go last.
Actually, I can do you one better that's even simpler in this particular case: left turning traffic does not have the right of way except where granted by a protected left-turn traffic signal. Boo-yah.
Well, yeah, that too. <grin>
But I always tend to overthink these things.
Speaking as a claustrophobe, and one who once had to spend time in an MRI with a hatch that the technicians closed while I was inside, that MRI cartoon is nightmare fuel. Visions of a power outage that meant they couldn't get the hatch open; visions of a disaster that killed everyone who knew I was inside the machine.... I thought a lot about both those possibilities during the approximately half hour I had to be in there.

I'd prefer the General Sherman.....
Nothing better for a nice drive to the seaside....
Diagramming the expected decay sequence of Brexit?
It's a decay sequence, but not for Brexit. And it if happens but doesn't happen politely, the English can go back to singing God Save the King instead of just playing it.
Dun dun dun.....

I strongly suspect what we have here is somebody following the exact instructions given to them.
This is why real documenters get paid the big bucks - to make sure documentation includes
all the steps.
