We're just now discovering things about Ceres that the folks in Fenspace discovered a half-decade or more ago. Does anyone want to take this opportunity to flesh out our article about the dwarf planet?

A while back Gate was mentioned on the Crossovers that Should Be thread. At the time I was disappointed that neither the novels nor manga appeared to be in translation. However there is a Gate anime being aired this season and it is being shown on Crunchyroll.
If you haven't clicked on the links the story can be summarized thusly: Fantasy Empire decides to send troops through a gate the other end of which opens into Tokyo. After running wild for a few hours the JSDF shows the fantasy army that dragons and trolls are not bulletproof. Then three months later a JSDF expedition is sent through the gate to demand no more attacks take place and apology and reparations for the attack that did take place.
What's that you say? The JSDF isn't allowed invade other countries? No problem, the government simply declares for security purposes that the ground on the other end of the gate is Japanese territory.

The guy went to a mall in full combat gear to have his picture taken in the style of his Civil War forebears.
I see many degrees of stupid in this:
1. He couldn't have someone snap a picture of him inside the post?
2. Who was the idiot armorer that allowed this guy to take his weapon out of the armory?
3. Assuming this guy lived in the barracks, did the following allow him to go off post with a weapon?
a) Enlisted person in charge of quarters
b) NCO in charge of quarters
c) Officer in charge of quarters
Let us just say those persons and his squad leader up to the battalion commander will have to answer some embarrassing questions from the post commander.

All intelligent life in the area of effect will follow Doug, dancing as they go.  If the Loon moves at more than a walking pace, this may be quite fatiguing for his targets by the time the music stops (3 minutes 28 seconds).  They can do nothing but follow him and dance (peacefully; no adding in martial arts moves like capoeira or the Lancre Morris Men).

Two odd side effects:  first, all those affected see Looney as playing some sort of musical instrument that falls under the heading of pipe, whether it be panpipes, something more resembling a clarinet or recorder, or bagpipes.  Yes, the FAQ says Doug doesn't play an instrument, but this song makes people think they see him playing.  

Second, no matter what time of day it is, or if it's indoors/underground, those in the area of effect also see a clear night sky and a very visible moon overhead.  The illusionary moon's phase matches whatever the phase would be if it were the real moon.  If the real moon is visible in the normal way, the song doesn't produce a duplicate.
