  Hulu for the win

http://www.hulu.com/

Don't know if anyone follows this site but in addition to the tv and movies, they've recently started adding anime. Unfortunately, dubbed versions, but
they say they're trying to get the rights to subbed as well. I just found school rumble (http://www.hulu.com/school-rumble) which is pretty cool.

Anyone else having trouble with the fourm's message system?
Posted by: robkelk - 02-19-2009, 04:14 AM - Forum: Forums - Replies (1)

Discovered that I can't enter text into the message box when I tried sending a forum message to Bob. I've got my preferences set to use the editor that
actually works with Netscape, but that doesn't seem to help with the popup message composition window.

(Oh, and Bob? check your e-mail...)

  Upcoming Anime Figure Watch
Posted by: robkelk - 02-19-2009, 04:09 AM - Forum: General Chatter - No Replies

There's an article on the often-NSFW (okay, usually-NSFW) website "Sankaku Complex" about some of this year's upcoming anime figures:

http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/02/1 ... ighlights/

(cut-n-paste the URL because the site usually is NSFW, and the page sidebars almost always are)

Assuming you visit the page, look at the attention to detail on the Fate figure. Wow. I hope I can afford one.

That Mikuru figure further down the page is nice, too... but is it $CDN120 worth of nice?

  Potter Step Anti-Unforgivable Song?
Posted by: Shepherd - 02-19-2009, 12:24 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (2)

Here is a song that may come in useful in the Harry Potter step:

Three Days Grace: Pain

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

You're sick of feeling numb

You're not the only one

I'll take you by the hand

And I'll show you a world that you can understand

This life is filled with hurt

When happiness doesn't work

Trust me and take my hand

When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Anger and agony

Are better than misery

Trust me I've got a plan

When the lights go off you will understand

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing

Rather feel pain

I know (I know I know I know I know)

That you're wounded

You know (You know you know you know you know)

That I'm here to save you

You know (You know you know you know you know)

I'm always here for you

I know (I know I know I know I know)

That you'll thank me later

Pain, without love

Pain, can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Pain, without love

Pain, I can't get enough

Pain, I like it rough

'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Rather feel pain than nothing at all

Rather feel pain

I can't think of a better way to counter an ongoing cruciatus curse than a song that grants magically induced masochism. I also wonder if Doug
could program his helmet to automatically end any currently active song and activate this song in the event of him screaming for more than X seconds.

That's the music I was looking for...
Posted by: Cobalt Greywalker - 02-18-2009, 12:37 AM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (3)

Well, seeing as the EPU forums are not letting me register, and I know at least some people here post there, and I figure some people here might like it as well...

In the EPU forums Symphony section Gryph was trying to locate the source of some music used on the latest Clarkson DVD. A 'Mister Fnord' identified the group as X-Ray Dog, but noted they don't sell generally (i.e. to us ordinary peons).

Today I idly typed their name into Wikipedia, and found http://www1.playkpmmusic.com/pages/profile/profile.cfm]THIS LINK in their article. Which leads to a full track listing and playable demos of their tracks (EDIT: At least, the tracks are short enough to be demos, but might be the full things) for all the CDs listed on their (X-Ray Dog's) site.

It's a shame they don't sell generally, otherwise they'd be getting my money.

  Indie Music - 'Deerhoof'

Filing this here for later consumption, these guys seem neat - I downloaded Giga Dance, and it feels like Sabre music...

Saw them described in a webcomic I read as 'post-ironic', expanded to 'they write music about pandas and sunshine because they think those things
would be cool to write music about'

So far, I'm enjoying what I've heard of them.
