  Sharpening claws: Purrfect Scrapper rebuild
Posted by: Sofaspud - 03-01-2009, 11:07 PM - Forum: Build Advice - Replies (2)

Scraps is fast approaching 50 -- a week away, tops, at this rate. Since she just got her last power slot, now seems as good a time as any to respec her.
Especially since I know what I'm after. Simply put, I want a kitty who can tank Rommy. *grin*

Okay then! Here's the current setup:

Archetype: Scrapper

Powersets: Claws/Willpower

Level: 50

Primary playstyle: Shred the spawn quickly, from the middle; survive.

Primary powers: all except Shockwave and Confront. Confront is optional as a late-game filler power if nothing else is better; I despise Shockwave (for the
KB) and do NOT want it at all.

Secondary powers: All of them.

Key items:

* Quick Recovery should be six-slotted, as soon as feasible -- I have the Perf. Shifter set for it already.

* Follow Up is going to be six-slotted with Touch of Lady Grey, for that lovely 11% Acc global bonus (and the 2% damage isn't bad either)

* Swipe is five-slotted with Kinetic Combat at the moment; this is malleable, but I want to keep the Knockdown proc at least.

* Strike should keep the Kinetic Combat knockdown proc as well (it is slotted in both)

* RttC is fully slotted with Dampened Spirits; if there's a better set I'm good with it, but otherwise, I'll keep it

* Slash is slotted with Scirocco's Dervish. Want to keep this one, it's nice.

At present, Sammy cranks out about 40% S/L resist *before* triggering Strength of Will; after SoW, she's up to 66% or so; a single Tier 1 orange is enough
to hit the 75% cap. With all toggles active she burns about 0.8 end / sec, and recovers 3.38; there's room for more toggles there.

My plan was to drop the epic pool (Weapon Master), drop Whirlwind (which is useless), and juggle power selections until I could keep all the secondaries, all
the primaries (except Confront and Shockwave), keep her Hasten and Superspeed powers, and fit Combat Jumping, Tough, and Weave into the build -- preferably
early enough to fit some slots in there (so, pre-49).

Anyone want to take a stab at it? I suck at Mids, I've been trying to figure out her build for a while now and am seriously considering just winging it.

Quote: (CNN) -- Paul Harvey, the legendary radio host whose career sharing "the rest of the story" with listeners spanned
more than 70 years, has died, according to ABC Radio Networks.

He was 90.

Harvey died at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, where he kept a winter home, said Louis Adams, a spokesman for the networks. He was surrounded by family
members when he died, Adams said.

Known for his deliberate delivery and pregnant pauses, Harvey's broadcasts were heard on more than 1,200 radio stations and 400 Armed Forces networks and
his commentaries appeared in 300 newspapers, according to his Web site.
At least if he had to go, it looks like it was peaceful.

For Sofaspud - Ugly Girl Design?
Posted by: Acyl - 03-01-2009, 07:45 PM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (3)

...because, okay, there's no way this is gonna look good.
Background for everyone else:- Spud's looking at trying to fake up a 'female' appearance for a male body character. I see the point. And since it's unlikely we'll get the ability to do full model swaps between costume slots anytime soon... my guess is the devs simply don't consider it a high priority request, or figure it's something most players don't care about. Which is true, I suppose. Anyway.
This is ugly, but then, enh, not every female in Paragon is a supermodel, right?
The face structure should be pretty obvious - choose the most feminine-looking face and play with the sliders to emphasise those attributes - eye/face size ratio, curve of the cheeks, chin, jawline, nose size and placement, so on. The hair...I think you basically have a choice between Long and Barbaric as your options. I opted for Long as it has locks that frame the face; your milage may vary. Hair is shaded black and blue as an accent colour, following conventions regarding black hair and the depiction thereof in anime.
Clothing-wise...what I'm doing here is taking advantage of the fact that the new vest 'jacket' option has something of a pronounced curve to it, which can at least give the SUGGESTION of something going down in the chesticular regions. Combined with the bow-tie and kilt...I'm ruthlessly using standard female school uniform imagery - Catholic rather than Japanese. 's by no means perfect, but the visual cue might be enough to point the viewer in the female direction rather than male as it were.
I'm not, however, entirely pleased with this, nor can I say it's incredibly original. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions for Sofa? This is the best I've got.

EDIT: (yeah, I used the kilt vetreward, but I believe Sofa has that?)

  The Revenant Hero Project: Reloaded.
Posted by: jpub - 03-01-2009, 01:48 AM - Forum: Mission Design - No Replies

Okay, I'm working on this arc I had planned. Here's the Souvenier:

A shattered Paragon Protector's helmet.

The shattered remains of a Paragon Protector's helmet is your only reminder of your adventures in the strange dimension of Sigma Psi 20-7, in an adventure
called - The Revenant Hero Project: Reloaded.

It started with a lead from a Crey researcher, Dr. E. Smith, who asked you to verify a tip they had received from one of their 'data recovery
specialists' regarding Portal Corporation's discovery of a dimension populated only by Paragon Protectors. You infiltrated a Portal Corporation data
center, and recovered the coordinates of Sigma Psi 20-7.

Your next task was to convince Operative Grillo to allow you and Smith to use Arachnos' experimental portal. Blackmail appeared to be the order of the say,
and so you invaded an Arachnos Lab for some very interesting accounting information.

With your keys to the portal, you made your first trip to Sigma Psi 20-7. You found yourself in a ruined city, in which you gathered the clues to what had
happened. From a newspaper, you found the public story - apparently, in a single day, all Crey Corporation facilities went silent. The next morning, a legion
of Paragon Protectors poured forth, and even the mighty heroes of Paragon City couldn't stand under the onslaught. From there, the legion spilled out over
the countryside.

You returned to Smith with your dirsturbing information. Shaken, Smith gave you Portal coordinates for a Crey Lab in Sigma Psi 20-7, and sent you to gather
information from it. Within the Lab, you found a few functioning computers with the data Smith requested. Apparently, the Seventh Generation Paragon Protector
genome carried a telepathic marker, intended to allow an advanced form of teamwork between the Protectors. Unbeknownst to Crey, the Protectors eventually
reached a critical point, forming a gestalt hive mind. This hive mind hatched its plan - take over the Crey labs, expand its forces immensely, and destroy
anything that was a threat to it - all over intelligent life.

With your latest data, Smith had one final mission for you, direct from Countess Crey. The Tenth Generation of the Paragon Protectors, still in development in
Crey, were designed with the telepathic marker in their genome. You needed to destroy the lab, any prototypes, and the research within. You attacked the
facility, and discovered that the Paragon Protectors had already taken over. Defeating them, you prevented a repeat of Sigma Psi 20-7, and gave Crey some
valuable data for their next revision of the Revenant Hero Project.

----

Five missions total, three with PP's as the main enemy, and a development of in-game backstory. Yes? No?

  [Draft] Jupiter Mining Corporation
Posted by: LynnInDenver - 02-28-2009, 11:52 PM - Forum: Fenspace - Replies (5)

Jupiter Mining Corporation

Technically formed October 14, 2008 when Jeph Antilles, Myk-El Miller, Nene Romanova and R2-G0 had a long, sit down discussion among themselves upon realizing
that they needed to have something to do, or go stark raving mad. Jeph had already planned on running small cargo between the various places that were certain
to crop up, Myk being an extra mouth that he'd not counted on made it an absolute certainty that they had to get to work helping the fledgling Fenspace
move goods.

By the time of SOS-Con, they were busy enough, both with shipping larger and larger cargo back and forth, as well as
Myk's well received 'Space Safety' and 'Safe Handwavium
Handling' courses, that an expansion was called for. Jeph was already toying with the potential of a fleet of cargo vessels.

Operation Great Justice made it absolutely mandatory as demand for cargo services jumped through the roof to support
the growing military complex that was developing to handle the Boskonians.

Organization

The name 'Jupiter Mining Corporation' is partly a misnomer, a placeholder of sorts that never got properly
replaced. This doesn't mean that the company doesn't deal in mining; shipping raw materials and finished product from places like The Forge, Hephaestus and any place the Rockhounds have set up shop is a big part of the JMC docket on any given day. They will also bring in products, mostly food, from
Earth itself, settled into an 'office' practically next door to Hermes Universal Deliveries. This office is only used for contract negotiations and
sales meetings; most of the time operations are conducted directly from Starbug 1, both headquarters and flagship of
the company.

Fleet

Starbug 1

Flagship and nominal headquarters when the company officers aren't sacked out in Melbourne, or in their relatively
modest digs in Serenity Valley. The first ship of the fleet, and used for many years as the primary cargo hauler,
Starbug 1 has basically been 'retired' from most active cargo service in lieu of the expanded fleet. Instead,
it serves, as part of a sideline set of contracts, as catering and transport for crews of various documentary shows that come up from Earth, the most notable
being the Fenspace special episode of Top Gear, and a 'Handwavium Myths' episode of The Mythbusters.

Starbug 2

Registry Number: Starbug 2

Base Hull: Custom (three deck personnel transport)

Drive Type: Speed (Gravity drive)

Drive Rating: .05C

Owner of Record: Jupiter Mining Corporation

Purpose: Personnel Transport

Home Port: Serenity Valley

Purpose: Personnel Transport

Launched: July 2014

Auxiliary Craft: Ironhide ('waved Panel Truck)

Crew: 3

Passengers: 15

Status: Active

Bearing only an outward resemblance to her 'sister' craft Starbug 1, Starbug
2 is specifically designed and constructed to serve as a lodging vessel for television show crews on especially large contracts. However, there is
sufficient cargo space and facilities available that she can be used when there are two separate but concurrent show contracts to be filled. Her first
'role' was bringing a crew along for a special series of 'Long Way' with Ewan MacGregor and Charley Boorman.

Known Vehicle Quirks

Don't Rush Me!: Anytime anyone on board is in a hurry to get moving, the engines take 50% longer to actually cycle
up than normal.

Watching My Knickers Spin Dry: Doing laundry in the provided facilities on board ship will shrink a random pair of
boxers, or, if everyone on board prefers briefs, will replace a pair of briefs with boxers, usually with no discrimination for gender or preferences.

The Blue Midgets

Registry Number: JMCB-##

Base Hull: Custom (four deck cargo transport)

Drive Type: Speed (Gravity drive)

Drive Rating: .04C

Owner of Record: Jupiter Mining Corporation

Purpose: Cargo Hauler

Crew: 3-6

More or less mass produced vehicles, they don't bear any more than superficial resemblance to the Blue Midget designs from Red Dwarf, aside from being
painted blue and boxy. As a single, each one is larger than either Starbug, encompassing four decks, although a fair amount of the space in each is dedicated
to cargo and storage. Each has a crew of three, with more than adequate facilities to support six crew when necessary.

Due to it's large size, the Blue Midget class contains equipment for external umbilical docking with both smaller craft, and larger stations. It also
carries a single auxiliary craft, typically a 'waved Honda Fit or equivalent.

All Blue Midgets are officially numbered rather than named, but each one has a name given it by the crew, the most prominently known being 'Eat And Run'.

Known Class Quirk

Shake, Rattle and Roll: Any attempt to push the vehicle past 50% of it's rated speed will result in the ship
vibrating like it's about to shed every single bolt that holds it together.

JMC Founding Members

Jeph Antilles - President and CEO

Myk-El Miller - Vice President of Operations

Nene Romanova - Vice President of Information Services

R2-G0 - Operations Manager and Supervising Engineer
