Looking for a fic

Obce upon a time, late 80s to early 90s, I read a professionally published sci-fi piece where the premise was the crew of a human exploration ship finding the ruins of alien world after alien world where civilization had fallen and eventually everything not sealed inside super-tech metamaterials was devoured by the ever escalating war of evolution between weeds and bugs, having been kickstarted during that world's golden age by pesticides and engineering of monoculture crops. I'm reasonably sure it was part of a multi-author omnibus paperback, and from the style may have been written a decade or so earlier, but probably not before the mid-60s. That may of course be completely off.

I'd hardly call it some landmark in my life, but it occasionally pokes its face out and makes an annoyance of itself, like trying to put a name to the face of an old schoolmate you might have talked to twice but definitely not three times.

 I HEARBY CHALLANGE...<cough>  OK, enough of that.  I have two, maybe three Harry Potter fics I have some memories of and I'd like to find them again (if they haven't been pulled from the net).

The first is one where Harry is a Metamorphmagus (or however it's spelled) and Tonks teaches him to switch genders.  Harry ends up pretending to be a French pen pal from the Triwizard, and in the great hall bitch-slaps Draco then complains about chipping a nail.

The second one I have good memories of is one where Harry introduces allergic reaction testing for potions, and has things like Snape no longer having greasy hair and much better attitude, and the Malfoy's no longer using a predefined recipe potion for veela looks and being much nicer in general.

The third one (which I think is part of the first fic) is where the Twins get Harry a coat with thunder elemental properties and with a bit of rubbing of arms/hands on the sleeves (static like) allows Harry to throw lightning bolts.  Maybe on Ron.

Did anyone ever come across any of these?  Because in rereading the thread I find I still want to read them.

And since it's been nearly four years since the last time I asked, has anyone rediscovered any of these fics?  Or have they simply gotten lost deeper in the mists of history?

And now another fic I'm searching for:

This is an old one. I would be surprised if it came out later than 1999; it's almost certainly an FFML-only or FFML-adjacent fic. It's a Ranma/Sailor Moon cross -- but not a Fuku Fic. The new senshi is Nabiki, who is Sailor Earth. That's about all I remember about it, except for a general impression that she's much nicer than canon, but she maintains her canon personality as part of her secret identity. This one's been bugging me for years. I know it had at least a few released installments; I remember a scene where Nabiki has to respond to some kind of emergency. But that's about all I can dredge up from my memory.

Does that ring a bell for any of you who, like me, is an old fanfic grognard?

Thank you, both. I'm going to check it out right now and see if it's the one I remember. As for whether it was mentioned before... no. I read the entire thread last night before posting my query to make sure I hadn't asked before.

I was about the same way, but  I thought the title had  "action" in it and did a quick search of my anime archive in the Ranma  crossed with Sailor Moon folder.and read the first page of every story with "action" in it's title. By the time I found what I thought was it, it was 1 am local time and I just sent the full title and name of the writer

Even fully awake, Still don't know why this seemed so familiar and something I had mentioned before.

By the way  Bob, I have six chapters in text format that I picked up from a website several years before 2004 which is the year my fanfic and gutenburg collection out grew the DVD I kept it on.

The GZ version of the fanfic robkelk pointed to seems to end with chapter 5, Below is the last few lines of the text version of chapter six, which are followed by a note from the writer.

 A quick scan of the end of the GZ file pointed to by robkelk appears to have to the end of chapter 5, chapter six is missing or possibly out of order.

                                Notes:

    While I realize that some of you wanted to see what happened in
this timeline's version of the final battle with Beryl and Metallia,
I figured that Nabiki would try *not* to consciously think about it,
and she'd likely wake up while dreaming about it for certain reasons.
  Does this mean the story will never be told?  No, I just believe
Nabiki's probably going to try to change the subject unless she has a
definite need to relive the events.   

    This part took a little longer to write (not counting my
ever-increasing lack of free time ^_^) because I basically rewrote
episode 48 with only Hitoshi Doi's (thanks again) original synopsis
as a reference.  (Sure, I could have cued the episode and run through
it several times while writing the story, but where's the fun in
that?  ^_^)
