Two original stories I've discovered via Royal Road authors' notes.

First, This Magical Girl is Mine (alternate title: This Witch Yearns for Yuri).

Ten years ago, the planet Jupiter vanished from the night sky. That same day, the Jovians announced their presence on Earth by gifting magical powers to teenage girls. Then one of those girls—one of the first witches—blew up Texas. Now the Jovians are more selective, and they only choose adult women to join their war as magical girls and witches.

Rachel has always had an interest in magical girls, but it became an obsession when she learned that her own roommate, Sophia, was secretly Strix Striga, one of the most powerful and respected magical girls in all of North America. Sophia’s double life as a heroine has left her without any time for Rachel—and the witches she fights get all the attention from Sophia that Rachel desperately craves. It’s infuriating. It’s untenable.

But now Rachel is a witch, and one that the Jovians have taken a special interest in. With their guidance and her own burning drive, she’ll grow her power until she’s ready to challenge the invincible Striga. And then, at long last, her precious Sophia will be hers.

On hiatus ("gigapause") through January, so this is a good time to get caught up at a reasonable pace.

Also, the Adopted Noble Is Not Human.

The baron's adopted son is an alien.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

A Superman-like MC in a medieval cultivation fantasy world.

This is an emotional progression fantasy. While Enel begins physically overpowered, his alien abilities awaken gradually throughout the story, often before he understands or can control them.

His greatest growth, however, isn't just in power, but in his understanding of duty, governance, and a world far more complicated than the one he was told.

NOTE: The MC is thirteen and incredibly sheltered. He is not an adult in a child's body. He is sincere, a little naive, and loving but his morality is absolute and black-and-white.
