Illegal. And more so after new laws passed last year, a change One Nation leaders voted in support of, while making a lot of noise about how they're funded solely by public donations (Despite constant irregularities with their taxes that has seen their leader declare bankruptcy and flee to England once, and the party itself lose their registration with the electoral office more than once). Other parties have been caught out by it before, and there's been consequences. But more than the legal consequences, this is the sort of thing that is going to cost them very heavily in terms of support from the public, and other parties in regards to where they'll be recommending One Nation on this years election ballots. Gun control isn't a hugely controversial topic over here. While there is the occasional person that thinks they're too tight, they're unlikely to get much in the way of political support. A lot of Australians see the NRA as a bunch of fanatical gun cultists that value guns over the lives of children. Trying to cut a deal with them is just asking for trouble.
