Not someone I've read, but a Name. i have read Goodkind, and my only problem was that after four or five books in his series, it became horribly formulaic.
Problem that erupted in last book threatens, (or succeeds) in separating the two main characters
one of the two main characters solves this problem, this causes problem for next book and other main character to solve
