“We can never undo what we have done. We can never go back in time. We write history with our decisions and our actions. But we also write history with our responses to those actions. We can leave the pain and the damage in our wake, unattended, or we can do the work of acknowledging and fixing, to whatever extent possible, the harm that we have caused.”

I'm kinda surprised to see that this thread hasn't been deluged by fly memes.
Not that I would have minded. You know that scene in the film, Hook (the one with Robin Williams as a grown-up Peter Pan) where his son, Jack, is watching the eponymous pirate captain utterly lose his shit because of a ticking clock?

Reading about how the Internet reacted to the fly on Mike Pence's head had me chortling like that kid and going "oh my GOD."

As long as you know the difference between fear and caution, the particular bit of advice that's being comment on is actually decent. Don't fear the things that can kill you (sharp blades, oncoming traffic, COVID-19, etc), but do be cautious around them (put knives in sheathes when not in use, don't run red lights or play in traffic, wear your mask over your nose and mouth and practice physical distancing, etc., respectively).

This image is doing conflation for satirical effect. One needs to be careful about such things.

That’s funny because those hand dryers spread germs about as effectively as a Trump speech.

Depends on how busy the restroom is, I guess, and how thorough you were with the soapy water before using it.

If you have any germs on your hands, those blow dryers will spread them. And that's for every individual who makes use of them.

I LOVED the little verse that a reader identifying as Dan put in the comments section for this cartoon:
 Quote:Roses are redViolets are blue
 Trump's had a bad day
 Boo hoo hoo.
