WTF images for today

I think that's actually the moon. The engine shadows further back on the fusilage would suggest as much anyway.

I didn't think the US still used the F-5... Do NASA?

At least, I think that looks like an F-5 shadow

I was thinking more F-18 myself - that looks like a jag indicating twin tails at the top of the shadow, and the Navy is still using them, right? - but I'll freely admit that my detailed knowledge of aircraft outlines is mainly confined to Macross, Transformers G1 and Galaxy Force/Cybertron, and a certain WWII classics.

As for the pony... don't recognise it if there's supposed to be a known character in pony form.

It's definitely an F/A-18.  Notice how far the exhaust nozzle protrudes from the vertical stabilizer.  Dead giveaway for an 18 - the F-15 and F-16 both have their vertical stabilizers much closer to the exhaust nozzles.  And yes, the Navy still uses them, and will for quite some time now that the new Super Hornets are here.

They're light years beyond the official MLPFIM costumes however. *shudders at monstrosities from live show*

how did someone look at those and say: yup, that won't scare kids. Not one bit!

Even with the minimalistic detail portrayed, and the fact that they aren't human faces, I can still tell they are just WRONG.

At a guess, it was probably originally an abrasive cutoff wheel tool, with a removable shield to get the disk on and off, and he wanted to try using it with a circular saw blade but couldn't fit the shield back on. Still epic fail, but with a plausible-if-in-a-hurry path to trying it anyway.

If that's the case, he needs to be banned from using the machinery. Shortcuts where safety will be compromised are a no-no in my book. He's lucky not to have earned the nickname "Stubby".

Give it time - he's already cut one finger, so he's too stupid to quit using that thing.

(But, yes, if I saw that on one of my safety inspections, I'd confiscate it immediately.)

Here are some strange Evangelion pics I found while looking for something mostly unrelated. (It's always when you're NOT looking for something that you find some of the interesting/good/weird stuff. ^_^)

Okay, much of the goofy/weird there indeed. The fifth one almost looks like it could be an illo for Thousand Shinji or its defunct sequel...

I find the Gendo-EVA a bit terrifying. The Capt. Ahab picture would really need Shinji's mom as the figurehead of the ship to really carry the analogy all the way.
