Yes, it was. TLJ was, in essence, an attempt to redo Star Wars as a noir flick. It didn't match the setting, it didn't match the theme, and it massacred the characters (not even getting into the idiot ball-reliant plotting).
It was Disney killing the series so that no more could be officially made.
