I don't know what he's doing anymore.

but he might just have been trying to get laid.

I think it would be hilarious both in terms of the storyline and in terms of what would happen in the fandom if it turned out that Lex Luthor is constantly trying to kill Superman because he's totally gay for him.
...that WOULD be hilarious.
the scary part is that it would make a sort of internally consistent sense.
and the funny part is, you'd get backlash from both sides
as the 'phobes go NO WAY IS ANYONE GAY FOR SUPERMAN!!1!!
and the Gay And So Ready To Be Offended crowd is all OH SURE A GAY VILLIAN!!!
meanwhile, I would laugh at least one asscheek off.
