I posted this in the Update thread, but it really belongs here. Arthur Hansen wonders: what if there was more to Annette Hebert than anyone knew, even herself? And what if, instead of triggering, Taylor became the heiress to that legacy...
the legacy Lady Grecia, shoved onto the Time War's front lines fresh out of the chapter house, left on the other side of a chameleon arch?

I'm going to second that rec. It's pretty cool.

And here's our first Overwatch fic for the recommendation thread! Winston tries to open a channel for emergencies. With the members of this new Overwatch, it goes about as well as you'd expect. (But I mean, last time it didn't go much better.)

Not the Doghead fic I'd most like to see resume (That'd be Ad Astra Per Ardua) but I do remember it being at least somewhat enjoyable. Groovy.

Summary:
Steve's sick of not understanding what's going on, and the team are not all that helpful, so he starts keeping an illustrated notebook for further research. With the help of wiki, google and Logan he starts to settle in and find his place in the twenty-first century.

pokemon. Pretty alt-uni in some ways (Flying-Specialist!Fem!Ash), but very well-written, nifty characterization, and the worldbuilding is pretty cool so far. Only two chapters, but last update was in July, so there's some hope that more will be forthcoming.
In case you missed it, the
Memorials series, a
Worm AU that's darker than canon, but with less sense that the universe is out to personally screw Taylor. The third segment,
Legacy, is still in progress and thus still only on SB.
Awww man! Just a one-shot? :p
I love it, but still wish there was more of it.
Highschool of the Dead is a guilty pleasure of mine.
"Land of the Dead" is a decently written SI fiction I found over on Sufficient Velocity. Short summary: A guy gets dropped into the series a year before Z-Day happens, with instructions from a Higher Power to help. Hilarity and mayhem ensues. Written straight, but with a pretty good sense of humor. It was last updated in August, I think.

"Good night, and may the Good Lord take a Viking to you."
Constellations - much lighter than your usual Worm fic crossover with the game Okami. 8 year old Taylor meets a very nice doG, Sunny.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?

Oh my lord, this is amazing and I love it. Shrine Maiden Taylor is a clear contender for best Taylor.
I'm only 6 chapters into it, out of a current 33, but I've read enough to recommend Wolverine's World
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9598828/1/ ... ne-s-World
A post apocalypse (no not that guy) future of the Marvel universe, in which some of the super-abilities floating around have bred true and spread some what.

No, I don't believe the world has gone mad. In order for it to go mad it would need to have been sane at some point.
I've never been quite sure what counts as "fanfic" for the purposes of this forum, but if net-posted original-universe fic counts, I'll give a shout out to Seanan McGuire's "Velveteen Vs."
Also published professionally, it's published originally on her LiveJournal:
http://seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com/t ... eteen%20vs.
Synopsis:
Quote:Velma "Velveteen" Martinez was one of the young heroes "adopted" by The Super Patriots, Inc. Sweet, smart, and totally marketable, with a power that lent itself well to the kiddie market, she seemed destined to be one of the company's most enduring properties...right up until the day she walked out on the hero world, choosing to return to a civilian life. The reasons are still coming out. More importantly, the Marketing Department is still trying to get her back.

Well, you know me, Jonathan, I'm such a martinet about definitions and what's permissible... Of course that's fine. In fact, it looks like something I'd like to read, just based on what you posted. I'm going to have to check it out.

The Velvateen stories are really good.
