Janet Kagan passed away on Saturday. She was the Hugo-winning author of Uhuru's Song, Hellspark and Mirabile. She was also a wonderful lady that I had the privilege of meeting
many years ago at one of the early Contexts here in Columbus, and I'll miss her a lot. I'd always hoped I'd get to read more works by her. If you
ever have the chance to pick up her stuff, do so. It's great. For the Fenspace folk...she's the one responsible for the Jason's professional name -
from the Mirabile stories.

On the news of the station that shows CSI here, they recently had a special report on the dangers of text messaging while driving.

The idea that anyone would need that explained to them makes my head hurt. Or it makes me want to write things in all capital letters. With cursing. Lots of
cursing.

I mean, talking on cell phones is bad enough (and I ranted about that before somewhere), but this?

I think I'll propose that all cars be fitted with faraday cages. -.-

Alternatively, how about anyone using their phone while driving will have their phone taken from them and smashed then and there? That'd probably help.

Somebody's got way too much time on his or her hands. Apparently, this was copied from somebody's blog (don't know the URL).

I think I recognize about half the characters. There's characters from at least four Steps and two Staggers in the mix, and the timeframe ranges from at least the early-1990s to now...
