Okay - remember back in September when I mentioned that one of the things on my Bucket List to do was use Wormhole to move Hamidon from his spot in the crater in the Abyss in the Lady Grey Task Force? As the ultimate "Stupid Controller Trick"?

Well tonight, I just did it. 

Kara Skye, my Grav/Kin controller Wormholed the nucleus of the Hamidon completely out of the goo, up the crater wall, to the top of the cliff, and all the way to the Helicopter! (Nothing but net!) Actually placing the last Wormhole spot IN the Helicopter. Then wormholed him BACK down the waterfall to the crater floor where we finally took him out. A truly epic finale. 

I really wish you guys could have been there. But since all of you have moved on and I can't get you to play the game enough to get a group together, I have to take my opportunities where I can find them. 

I hope sharing this makes up some for you not being able to see it in person. They always say - pics or it didn't happen. Well I have both a demorecord file and many screenshots. Here's a few of them. Plus a transcript of the chatlog from the minute I made the first Wormhole. The reactions of my other teammates were priceless!

In the IST book, I see that AA's powers appear to be Seeder gene "eruption" at puberty; but I seem to recall something about a medallion here on the forums. Is this a case of a difference between the Warrior's World source material and the conversion of the original character to GURPS?

Curious, mostly because of an Infinite Worlds version of the character who becomes important in my timeline.

Hello Folks,

Looking for a judgement call, for the IST characters with the Seeder genes (as opposed to other sources) would the proper power modifier be Super-10% or Mutant -10%?

Also, is the assumption that even people who get their powers by Accident/Experimentation are merely stress-activated Latents?

Just curious as to whether there was any development in the area of power-dampening or such technologies in the IST setting. I don't recall anything, other than the Deep Sleep Cells for dealing with metacriminals, but I could be mistaken and a cursory glance at my pdf of IST didn't show anything. I am assuming the answer is "no" and that for those prisoners not remanded to Deep Sleep, specialized methods for countering individual powers were needed. I know some psi-tech existed in the form of psi-shields and such for dealing specifically with psychic abilities, but I don't recall there being anything that neutralized non-psi abilities reliably.

Well, we all know how the big item went. Anyone have anything interesting happen closer to home?

Here's a few items from Iowa:

-Due to redistricting, one of our House races was between two long-standing incumbents - Tom Latham vs. Leonard Boswell. Boswell had the somewhat dubious distinction of running the most negative campaign I've ever seen. I heard precisely one unique ad of his where he had anything good to say about himself.

-I'm not sure exactly who it involved, but apparently one of our state legislature races had a difference of 29 votes. That's apparently startlingly close even for a local election. That's just people who voted yesterday though, and doesn't include early voting, so maybe that'll resolve it.

-In another local race, Steve Sodders apparently had some advertising saying his opponent (Jane Jech) opposed access to cancer screening.

Jane Jech's mother is apparently dying of cancer.

FAUX PAS.

-There was a ballot issue about one county getting a loan which was promoted as for "water conservation". However, it's entirely acceptable under the fine print for them to spend it building bike trails, and some people think that's exactly what they'll do. (This area already has bike trails that no one uses in various places...)

-And speaking of early voting, there seem to be a lot of people who had absentee ballots that never actually got where they were going. Does not appear to be an attempt at actual tampering, since I've heard reports from people identifying as members of both parties. But it's making some people kind of wonder if pushing early voting so much is in fact a bad idea.
