From her post on Titan Network boards (handle: Victoria Victrix):

Quote:I have permission to tell you this from Brian Clayton the former manager
of Paragon Studios.  "please continue to keep everyone’s spirits high,
let them know what they’re doing is important and let’s not have any
regrets; for we know that we’re doing EVERYTHING humanly possible to
right this injustice. "
There are very delicate business
negotiations going on.  One thing that will help is to continue to show
that we are passionate, committed, sane (well, mostly) and driven to
support CoH.  We are exactly the sort of audience any product needs.

My Sweet Wyoming Home
By Bill Staines
There's a silence on the prairie
That a man can't help but feel;
There a shadow growing longer now,
And nipping at my heels.
For I know that soon that old four-lane
That runs beneath my wheels
Will take me home to my sweet Wyoming home.

I headed down the road last summer
With a few old friends of mine.
They all hit the money, Lord,
I didn't make a dime.
The entrance fees they took my dough,
And the travelin' took my time,
And now I'm headed home to my sweet Wyoming home.

Cho:
Watch the moon smiling in the sky
And hum a tune, a prairie lullaby.
A peaceful wind, an old coyote's cry
A song of home, my sweet Wyoming home.

Bridge:
Well, the rounders they all wish you luck
When they know you're in a jam.
But your money's ridin' on the bull,
And he don't give a damn.

Well there's shows in all the cities,
The cities turn your heart to clay;
It takes all a man can muster
Just to try and get away.
And the songs I'm used to hearin'
Ain't the kind the jukebox plays,
And now I'm headed home to my sweet Wyoming home.

Cho.

You know I've always loved the ridin',
There ain't nothin' quite the same,
And another year may bring the luck
Of winning all the game.
There's a magpie on the fencerail,
And he's callin' out my name,
And he calls me home to my sweet Wyoming home.

COH Style Character Templates for CO
Posted by: Logan Darklighter - 09-12-2012, 12:01 AM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (10)

As far as building characters go, I remembered there were a couple of people on the CO forums that were good at building templates.
A template is a basic character without any accessories and minimal or skintight clothing that you can use as a base for building your character. The game provides you with templates at the beginning. But many City of Heroes players are put off by the basic proportions that the game provides you, and using the proportion sliders is a little difficult to get a feel for early on, especially coming off of another game that does it differently.
So what I thought was:  How about I commission some templates made that more closely resemble the proportions of the character templates that City of Heroes provides you? You know - the basics, before you start tweaking with the sliders.
So, in City of Heroes, you have -
Male / Female / Huge
And although you have full control of the sliders, the game does provide you with some basic ideas. Within each gender category are basic settings -
Slim
Average
Athletic
Heavy
So I made screengrabs of the City of Heroes character builder at the basic proportions setting window.
I did this for all the type, making front, side and rear turnarounds for the CO forum to look at.
And asked in my post if someone could make CO templates based on those.
Bluhman posted later in the forum with the following:

Quote:Males Females Huges A few comparisons/observations made between CoX and CO characters (as explained from the perspective of CoX):
  • CO characters have comparatively much longer arms compared to CoX. Whereas a CO character's closed fist will likely reach about halfway down the thigh, CoX only reaches around the top of the leg/lower groin area.
  • CO Characters also have very large hands and feet. Especially with feet, which have to be driven entirely down the slider to resemble anything from CoX.
  • Related to that, CoX legs are more evenly sized as they go down the leg. In comparison, CO legs are much more curved. The same probably applies for arms, but if it does, it's not nearly as noticeable.
  • The one thing that is completely unchangeable between the two games: The neck area of CO characters is much more curved. CoX characters (particularly males) have a much flatter shoulder line in comparison. There pretty much is nothing I can do about that.
Copy the jpeg images found at the above set of links into your Champions Online screenshot folder.
Then go in-game and go to a tailor and open up the character creator (or create a new character). At the bottom of the character creator are buttons that say "Save" and "Load" much like what COH has.
Click load and you'll get a subscreen with a list. Find the above template images and call it up.
Now instead of the game's default proportions. You can have something closer to CIty of Heroes to start with (in theory).
Here's a few extra templates that aren't based on COX but that you may find useful nonetheless:
Templates
Bluhman is a good CO designer. Look for his posts and character archive in the costumes threads. He's got some really good ones.
I hope this helps you guys out.

  [RFC] Feast of Beasts
Posted by: Ace Dreamer - 09-11-2012, 11:55 PM - Forum: Fenspace - Replies (7)

A week-long virtual battle tournament, held every year, the last week of February, with loads of different genres, the highlights of which are broadcast every night on TV in the week running up to the festival. Then, the two winners of the tourney get to fight it out, in Kandor City, using light-and-sound only full-sized giant monsters, such as Godzilla vs. Mothra.  A different pairing of giant monsters every year.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiju
For extra kudos, SfX people get to compete in generating the real-time collateral damage, as holographics (probably only AIs would be fast enough to pull this off, though humans aren't excluded). This might have people watching from now-invisible 'demolished' buildings, as the giant monsters continue to rampage through the city.
This is about RPG-ing as spectacle, the Fen equivalent of "Big Brother" if you want to be tacky.  You have to prove you're really good before you get on the Big Stage.
There is 'live' showing of the VR tourney on an outdoors big screen, in the equivalent of Times Square NY, in the week before the Big Fight.
On a more human scale, there are staged fights between people costumed as super heroes and as monsters (but no human vs. human fights, as there must be a 'beast' involved).  Sometimes the hero wins, sometimes the beast.  There are also a far smaller number of (equally staged) fights between heroic beasts and villainous humans.  Some fights use puppets, some traditional theatre, some are humans in suits doing slow motion action.
This is supposed to be human level, so technology is restricted to making the suits look better, or maybe the odd enhanced leap - no speed drive flying, holographic opponents, micro bot swarms, or anything that fancy.  The only martial arts done is supposed to be cinematic.
It is hoped that one year Tokyo will offer to let a "Champion of Champions" giant holo battle be run there.  The cynical suggest that there is guaranteed to be a problem involving Tokyo Tower.

  Bug fix
Posted by: Seraviel - 09-11-2012, 10:34 PM - Forum: Drunkard's Walk V: Another Divine Mess You've Gotten Me Into - Replies (5)

Sorry if I'm bothering, but a reread of DW5 brought a typo to me:
Skuld nodded. "Free will. It's bad enough that you're being forced to give up some by being sworn to me, but I won't let you give up any more than you have to!" She clenched her hands into fists, planted them firmly on her hips and declared, "I will not make you a Solder. So you have a choice: Servitor, or getting your memory wiped." She took on an imperious air as she eyed the mortal girl. "What's it going to be?"

I know they are working on the bike, but I don't think anybody would turn Megumi into metal used to fasten wires. As such, I'm pretty sure the word should be 'Soldier'

So THAT's what happened that one time! I couldn't make heads or tails of
what I had just seen! (It was a crowded fight in one AE mission and I
didn't see it clearly enough to get the bug to repeat).

Always wondered why it looked like my character had attempted to perform
a Transformers "transformation pirouette" and failed in the middle!

CYBERMAN 8: "RRrrrrraaaUNCH...aaaUNCH...aaaUNCH...aaaUNCH. .. OW... OW... OW... MY BACK!!!!" *DIES*

O.o;;;

From this thread on the boards:

Quote:Quote:

I also got the mergeable Herc titans removed because they would
sometimes merge with the *player*. I can't find any video of it, but if
you spawned them as friendly and then got one damaged, 50% of the time
they would decide to merge with the player instead of his partner. You'd
stop what you were doing, turn, execute the deceive animation, then die
and become invisible while the Zeus spawned on top of you.

I think they should have just granted you a Zeus costume effect and
allowed you to continue on. For some reason, that suggestion was not
adopted.

  Anime Recommendations
Posted by: Shader - 09-10-2012, 01:38 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (30)

Given that the silly buying season is coming up I am planning on this year saving my non-existant money and only getting stuff for myself. (HA!)
So far the Want/Need list includes
- Gaming Mouse
- Headset (Headphones with Mic)
- Bluray drive
- some decent Anime.
This is where you lot come in...
I'm fishing for recommendations for Anime.
I have most of the Ghost in the Shell stuff (the movies and the SAC series which I think are better), a copy of Gunslinger Girls, Bubble Gum Crisis (both versions), and watched Appleseed, Cowboy Bepop.
I like Space and Sci-Fi and Robots, so anything decent with them is a plus.
I use to watch Toonami and Adult Swim when it was showing down here in Aussie Land.
Oh... and I intensely dislike Pokemon, and Ponies. They will be killed with fire. Fire I Say!
