"It's too bad Buffy can't be in two places at once, even for a few minutes," mused Doug.

Eimi cleared her virtual throat. "That's my cue to play this one for you..."

An idea for the Sakura Taisen Step

During the interlude between scenes of a performance, Ogami, Doug and the Kazegumi  would sing what I would call "show stoppers". Songs that would bring the house down...no matter if you don't understand the language. Could be from opera to pop. Though Doug would have to calibrate it for 20's sensibilities. I don't think "You Ain't Nothin But a Hound Dog" would go well in 20's Tokyo. Though "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables might be a hit.

RIAA ordered to justify suing groups of people in one lawsuit
Posted by: robkelk - 06-12-2010, 12:48 AM - Forum: Politics and Other Fun - Replies (3)

Ars Technica: Judge may dismiss 4,576 of 4,577 P2P defendants from lawsuit

And she's right to do so, IMHO. The only reason the RIAA has for lumping all those lawsuits together is to save money. The civil court system does not exist to save money; it exists to arrive at equitable decisions, and putting thousands of people together in one case is not equitable to them.

(Note that this does not dismiss the lawsuit against those thousands of people - it just dismisses all but one of the defendants from this particular lawsuit.)

  Question About E-Cigarettes
Posted by: Black Aeronaut - 06-11-2010, 09:47 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (8)

I've recently seen an upswing in the popularity of these things and I'm all for them.  Anything that improves public health gets a vote in my book.

Although I do wonder about them.  Is the vapor that these things produce really safe?  And do the 'No Nicotine' cartridges really live up to their name?

If what they say is true, then I'll probably wind up investing in a kit myself.  I've recognized that on a psychological level I have a certain attraction to smoking.  Probably because all the men in my Mother's family smoked.  Something like that imprints on you, ya know, and it'd be great to satisfy that craving without endangering my health.

That was one seriously awesome run.

  BtVS fic search
Posted by: DreadnaughtVV - 06-11-2010, 07:57 AM - Forum: Other People's Fanfiction - Replies (4)

I'm trying to find a fic I read once that was a BtVS/Taken!Movie cross.  When the two girls get grabbed at the beginning of the movie, a slayer also gets taken, prompting Xander to help get the girls back.  Later parts involve destroying the slave business.
Any help would be appreciated.
