Got it from a neighbor this weekend. The symptoms are mild so far, save for bronchial spasms. Got the prescription for that, but due to side effects, I'm staying put. Dammed irritating.

Min Melay, having gotten to that particular point in her career, has just been given the Crown of Glory arc by Mercedes Sheldon; this is apparently better known as Warriorgeddon in the channel.
And the last time I did it (i'd ororo'd it) DS pointed out disappointedly "You didnt share???"
So, accordingly, I'm letting anyone who wants to join in with this slow loader in beating the SNOT out of warriors to help Min Melay recover the Crown of Glory for Mercedes to be around Wednesday Feb 24 at 8 pm EST (5pm PST, and I have no bloody idea what time that comes to for DS and the other Australians) Gatering point, Talos Island Train station Virtue.
Oh, and FYI Min's an Electric Melee / Shield Defense scrapper, currently l24 if that affects your planning any...

I've got enough music ripped from CDs that I've lost track of it all. Oh, it's all in the "music" directory on my terabyte NAS device, but the file names only tell me the names of the songs. I'm looking for software that will go into the MP3 files, extract the metadata from the ID3 tags, and write at least the file name, song title, artist, genre, and playing time to a database file (or a spreadsheet which can be imported into a database). Also writing the album name, year, and composer to the database would be appreciated, but is not a required function. Being a supporter of the FLOSS meme, I would appreciate the program being freeware. I'm running Windows (2000 and XP) in my home LAN.
Does anyone know of software that will fill my needs?

I was re-reading some of the Sailor Moon Expanded Project the other day, and thinking that it was a shame about how that project ground to halt.
Now, I've talked to Mark about what happened to the Sailor Moon Expanded Project, but that's not the only massive undertaking to vanish into the aether.
Does anyone know what happened to the Revenge Wars?
Long ago SKJAM! posted a Ranma-fic challenge, to write up bits where characters got vengeance on their authors. Many authors got Jusyenkyo Curses. Then there was the Revenges End, where Authors began to fight back. This lead to the Revenge Wars, where Barry Cadwgan, David Row, Webdragon, Prime and others decided to turn it into a well written, internally consistent, and large, crossover fan fic. I enjoyed what I read, but after a couple years they kicked the lurkers off their mailing list and I ceased to be able to follow it.

So....
Just got done watching the TTGR Laggan-Hen movie. I think I've got something in my eye.
The movie boils almost the entire series down to a clipshow less than an hour long... and uses the remaining hour to take the entire "Rescue Nia from the Anti-Spirals" mission and turns it into a Crowning Moment Of Awesome that takes CMoA duration records and shatters them. EVERYONE gets their badass on to even greater levels in this one (except Kittan, but then it would be harder to top his CMoA from the series). Even Nia gets some a lot of Sheer Awesome time on-screen, and I'm not referring to her rather prolonged nudity. It makes the end even more heart-rending, and I'll admit to a bad case of Fridge Logic concerning universe-breaking Spiral Power and its apparent inability to save one small, sweet girl. I mean, come on! As if every member of Team Dai-Gurren wouldn't have been willing to give Nia a bit of their own life to keep her going?
Still... It manages to be even more awesome, and more heartbreaking, than the last couple eps of the original series, and I really started to tear up at the end of the wedding.
And, oh yes: "My Wife Is the Greatest SWING!!!!" Total breakage right there, especially since said wife was watching. Along with the WHOLE PLANET. I doubt he'll need to buy her chocolates or flowers for a long time after that -- a month at least.

Affect: Doug's cyclesuit takes on a long cape with a blazing skull emblem, his goggles become the most bizarre ruby-quartz sunglasses, he can't stop bellowing "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?!?," and the more emotional he gets, the more BADASS he gets!
Hexe's comment: "Okay, who the HELL let DOUG read TVTropes.org?"
Foreigner: HotBlooded
Well, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded
You don't have to read my mind, to know what I have in mind
Honey you oughta know
Now you move so fine, let me lay it on the line
I wanna know what you're doin' after the show
Now it's up to you, we can make a secret rendezvous
Just me and you, I'll show you lovin' like you never knew
That's why, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, hot blooded
If it feels alright, maybe you can stay all night
Shall I leave you my key?
But you've got to give me a sign, come on girl, some kind of sign
Tell me, are you hot mama? you sure look that way to me
Are you old enough? will you be ready when I call you bluff?
Is my timing right? did you save your love for me tonight?
Yeah I'm hot blooded, check it and see
Feel the fever burning inside of me
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded, I'm hot
Now it's up to you, can we make a secret rendezvous?
Oh, before we do, you'll have to get away from you know who
Well, I'm hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I'm hot blooded, I'm hot blooded
Hot blooded, every night
Hot blooded, you're looking so tight
Hot blooded, now you're driving me wild
Hot blooded, I'm so hot for you, child
Hot blooded, I'm a little bit high
Hot blooded, you're a little bit shy
Hot blooded, you're making me sing
Hot blooded, for your sweet sweet thing
And after this, of course, every time Doug hears "FIGHT THE POWA!!!".... Yep, you guessed it:
"GIGA... LOOOOON.... BRRRRREEEEAAAAKEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!"
I blame this on just seeing the Laggan-Hen movie. Good GRIEF.......

I was doing some flying a couple of weekends ago (as a passenger, not a pilot), and I took some photos during the trip, http://web.ncf.ca/fm536/moreflightphotos/index.html]just as I usually do.
We didn't undergo any background checks before the flights. We didn't have to ask for special permission to make the flights. We didn't have to file flight plans far in advance; in fact, my pilot usually files flight plans by phone less than a quarter-hour before takeoff.
And nobody blinked an eye because of these flights. But if we'd tried this in Washington, or Delhi, or London, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No-fly_zone]we'd be in big trouble.
What's the rationale for putting "no-fly zones" around public buildings? Especially in what are supposed to be free countries? (It isn't as if saying "no, you can't fly there" is going to stop a terrorist.) I can understand putting flight restrictions around spaceports or military live-fire ranges for the safety of the pilots, but why limit access to government buildings or sports venues that anyone can approach on the ground?
