So, I'm going to the Champions Online website to check the free trial weekend deal, figure I'll mess around with it, yeah?

....the website is down, with the following message:

Quote: The web site is currently offline

The web site is currently offline. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience and are working to return to service as soon as
possible.

Um....nice one, I guess.

EDIT: And it's back up. Apparently whenever Champions has downtime for the servers...they have downtime on the website and official forums as well. Okay
then.

Found this while randomly checking my regular webcomics:

First Comic

It's a fun little strip and very energetic.

(MACROSS) A real blast from the past!
Posted by: Logan Darklighter - 10-29-2009, 01:13 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (6)

What's awesome here is:

It's Max and Miria, doing what they do best. HOLY SHIT - watch that paired launch where they stay back-to-back through the opening missile salvo. I suppose
so as to fool the enemy (classic Zentraedi glaugs and officers tactical pad) into thinking it was only one fighter on the radar? Either of them alone is worth
a whole squadron. Put Max and Miria together? UNSTOPPABLE.

The music is pretty good. A bit old school but you'd expect that (Dreamcast era and all)

It's actually got Haruhiku Mikimoto character designs!

A quick google however shows that this opening sequence is unfortunately the ONLY good thing about the game. Here's the quick blurb from wikipedia:

Quote: Macross M3 - A 3D shooter released for the Sega Dreamcast in February 22, 2001. M3 takes place around 2014, and covers the story of Maximilian Jenius, Milia
Fallyna Jenius, and their adopted Meltlandi daughter Moaramia Fallyna Jenius (whose original name was Moaramia Jifon) as they continue to serve as Valkyrie
pilots.
Other than that there is review after review where the game is called out for being crappy. Ah well. Enjoy the short movie and imagine the fanfic
fodder.

Like the title says I'm looking for Ed's stories, so far I've only found his fanfiction.net account (though I also have a link to an archived
version of his old site somewhere in my bookmarks), does anybody know where he's hosting his stuff nowadays?

  Circle of Life
Posted by: Shepherd - 10-27-2009, 06:48 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (1)

Music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice

Performed by Elton John

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

(Chorus)
In the Circle of Life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle, the Circle of Life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps the great and small on the endless round

(Chorus repeats)

On the path unwinding
In the Circle, the Circle of Life.
-----------------------------------------------
Has anyone ever suggested a power for this song? I can see it either restoring
a blasted landscape to pristine condition or acting to return unnatural beings
to a natural state (which may be good for neutralizing a lich's phylactery or
Voldemort's horcruxes).

Alternately, perhaps it grants an oracular vision of your path in life (much
like the demon Lorne from the Buffyverse sees your future when you sing).
