  Short Attention Span
Posted by: Shay Guy - 11-13-2008, 12:26 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (10)

By Fizzy Bangers, from the album "Short Songs for Short People," about eight seconds long, with lyrics as follows:

Why can't people understand?

I've got a short attention span,

Short attention span!

Effect: scrambles others' short-term memory?

(Also, didn't want to make a separate topic, but...Tsurupettan
would be useful if anyone needed a breast reduction. Tongue)

Pronounced "shy guy."

  "The open door"
Posted by: robkelk - 11-12-2008, 06:50 PM - Forum: Politics and Other Fun - Replies (2)

I see that Gov. Palin has alredy started her bid for the presidency in 2012. Quoting from http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/election ... alin-.html]this article:

Quote:I'm like, ‘OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere ... don't let me miss the open door.’ And if there is an open door in ’12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door.
(Which lead to the comedy/satire folks over at CBC Radio to ask "Didn't American voters already show her the door?")

Does anybody else think she should have waited at least until the new guy gets sworn in to start making noises about wanting his job?

I'm not sure any of those jokes are that funny. (Well, the one is amusing when set in the context of the article.)

..huh

On first glance, I like the new nacelles, but the secondary hull looks a little weird to me. I think I want to see the ship from some more angles before I
approve or unleash my nerdrage.

  Angels in anime...?
Posted by: robkelk - 11-11-2008, 11:50 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (9)

(I asked this over on Usenet; I'll probably get some more replies if I ask here, too.)

I've got a reason (involving that angels-and-demons-RPG that Bob's worked on in the past) to compile a list of anime that have western-style angels as characters. They don't need to be absolutely accurate depictions of Judaeo-Christian-Islamic angels, but they do need to at least look the part...

Ah My Goddess! (TV) - the goddesses have assistant angels that are actually a part of them; each angel reflects her goddess' physical and emotional state.

Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne - assuming the anime is reasonably close to the manga, there's an angel and a fallen angel in the main cast.

Risky/Safety - Safety is an "apprentice angel".

Any more?

  Further Silicon Tweaks
Posted by: OpMegs - 11-11-2008, 02:53 AM - Forum: Build Advice - Replies (3)

So, as my continuing play experience with Silicon plays out, I continue to notice what does and doesn't get used. And thus, I'm looking at another
respec, based around making her durability even moreso, and extending her utility to the team itself.

This is the current build I've got:

Extended set bonus is available upon request, but since most of you have Mids ANYWAY, I felt too lazy to edit out all the [color] tags that never work anyway.
If anyone knows how to get those to work properly, I'd be very happy to find out how.

Anyway. General objectives:

- Purple suggestions are welcome, but I don't really have the cash flow/desire to pimp Sylia out that much, so non-purple suggestions are more likely to be
taken.

- Fighting/Leadership pools. I have no idea how these are for end consumption or how they should be slotted. Hence the generic IOs in them(except for one LotG
recharge booster I picked up off Spud in Maneuvers. Graci, Spud!)

- I'm pretty happy with my slotting from the primary and secondary sets. Pools are really what I'm looking for advice on slotting, or if slotting them
is exceptionally necessary (Ex: Boxing)
