Another tech support thread: DNS settings?
Posted by: Morganite - 07-11-2008, 10:18 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (7)

My ISP, Qwest, seems to have a problem with their DNS servers. They say people are having trouble because of a recent microsoft update, but my system
doesn't auto-install updates, and when I changed the other systems on my network to use an open DNS server, things started working properly again.

However, the machine with the internal modem still has problems. I changed the DNS addresses in the appropriate connection's options in Network and Dial-Up
Connections, but when I test with nslookup, it's still using the original server.

Is there some other setting somewhere else that I need to change instead? I'm using Windows 2000.

Can I has name for Dark Pooky, pls?

Actually, I want to check with you. I'm at a fork; I can go the "Smoked it like a Havana cigar." route, or I can go a different route. If
you're still interested in having Dark Pook as part of Onyx's backstory, cool beans, just let me know. [Image: smile.gif]

(For the record, I'd still like it. The idea of her having her own personal tormentor intrigues me.)

  Help! I Have A Problem!
Posted by: Bob Schroeck - 07-11-2008, 06:53 PM - Forum: Forums - No Replies

If you've run into some kind of weirdness with the board that you can't get around, go to this URL and type in a description of the problem:

http://drunkardswalkforums.yuku.com/help/me]%[link=http://drunkardswalkforums.yuku.com/help/me]http://drunkardswalkforums.yuku.com/help/me]

This fires off a help ticket to my Admin/Support account for the boards which I can then escalate to Yuku support.

We discussed doing Posi's TF as a 4-man (max) group with our dark characters. That'd be me on Onyx Blast, Ankhani on Ennyn, and Sweno on Smouldering
Decay, I believe.

First off, we need a fourth. I'm willing to attempt it without a tank, but I'll bow to the wisdom of anyone who has completed it before if they say
I'm being stoopid there. Dunno about the rest of ya. So, if anyone wants to volunteer... (hint hint)

Second, we need a time. I'm open most weekends and I don't mind making it a multi-night run; Tuesdays and Thursdays are my best gaming days.

And last: if there's enough interest, I'm willing to do multiple Posi runs IF we keep the team size down. I'm not -- repeat, NOT -- attempting
another 8-man Positron TF. Swear I'll shoot myself first. Ugh.

So, let's hammer it all out. Here's the thread I said I'd start. [Image: smile.gif]

  weekend TF
Posted by: Sweno - 07-11-2008, 09:39 AM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (6)

So earlier tonight there was chatter of doing a STF (Statesman Task Force). It's an 8 person, Blueside, level 45-50 TF. It involves beating up on quite a
few Archvillians and EBs.

I can bring Gamma or Fren, depending on need.

If this falls through we can always roll a LGTF.

who is interested?

  Teleport Keybinding
Posted by: Ankhani - 07-10-2008, 06:05 PM - Forum: The Legendary - Replies (5)

As per Spud's request, here is how you can set up Teleport for a rapid action activation.

If you have a 3 button Mouse (Left, Right, and Middle/Mousewheel), the command to use is as follows:

/bind MButton pow_exec_name Teleport

This set up is rather quick to uses given that the both activation button ( Middle mouse ) and execution button ( Left mouse ) are near by. However, this does
overwrite the middle mouse button as the default key for 'Rotate Camera' so you will need another key for that. You can find that option in the
Keybinds section of Options.

Another popular command for people without 3 button mice (or those not willing/able to use the middle button) you can use this command:

/bind LShift+LButton pow_exec_name Teleport

This way, to activate Teleport, you hold down the Left shift key and then click the Left mouse, then release the left shift and then use the left mouse to go.

  I've Been Thinking...

...about adding a forum area just for Staggers. It'd probably be small and little-used, but I was thinking it would be nice to have them all together in
one place where it would be easy to find them. Thoughts, opinions, etc.?
