Minor thing really, but the forum head page forum stats is not presented very well.  e.g.

Did we always have so many unregistered readers?
Posted by: Bob Schroeck - 10-17-2017, 07:31 AM - Forum: Forums - Replies (3)

This morning, just a few moments ago, the status report at the bottom of the top page (that at least I see, I don't know if it's visible to other people) reported that at that moment, using the board were me, four registered users, Bing, Google -- and 9 unregistered guests.  And none of the IPs for the guests popped up on the web-based antispam database that MyBB can be (and is, here) configured to interface with.  (Although two were locally recorded as having been used by registered users in the past.)

Usually when I see a high number of guests, at least a few of them are viewing the "no permissions" page, which tells me they're likely spammers.  And indeed, IP checking in those cases usually turns up at least one bad actor in the database.  But today's unusually "clean", which makes me wonder, do we actually have that many legitimate unregistered readers?  If so, wow.

I'm not going to give the one-line command here, but I'll link to the article:

  Genre Collisions

So, on the spur of the moment, Peg and I decided to go to an Oktoberfest up in the Watchung mountains.  And when we get here we find a band called Doppelgänger is the entertainment.

Imagine, if you will, a rock-and-roll oompah band in full lederhosen.  I kid you not.  When I get home I'll upload my video of them playing Springsteen.

Yo. Back again.

I'm back in New Jersey, after the following:

  • Getting laid off by the bank I worked for
  • moving to Seattle
  • Getting married
  • getting laid off again
  • wife getting laid off
So yeah, back here. I'm not writing as much for EPU, but I'm doing some of my own stuff at https://www.mephron.com/ and https://www.studiosurrealism.com/ while jobhunting.

How's things by you?

So, Bob, there's a new rulebook a-coming. And all you young whippersnappers can see where it all started.

They'll have to bring the road's in.....

So, apparrently, a Hurricane - or a post-tropical depression, or something, is going to drop its shit on us Monday next week.

This is, of course, being treated with the mild amusement that all weather related oddities are.

Half the midlands will flood.
The ESB will open the dams above Cork city and flood the city to keep from flooding the city.
Traffic will grind to a halt.
Nobody will prepare for anything.
Shrubs might also be pulled up.
Varadkar's solution to the homeless question will be revealed in all it's gory.

The fucker'll probably miss anyway and nail England.

Either way, [Image: tenor.gif]

  A "Zombie" Shuffle
Posted by: itsune9tl - 10-13-2017, 03:34 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (1)

On the surface this song makes people in AoE do a Rock Party shuffle, no actual dead people.
https://youtu.be/KQ6zr6kCPj8

The problem is the effect is Contageous and Sticky, once each day affected targets need to make a "Will" save, or do a repeat of their party Shuffle, and then it spreads to people near by causing people in close proximity (a ranged touch)  to the Shuffler to make a will Daily save or join in the Shuffle. Fortunately once a person makes their save they are not affected by other "Shufflers".
