I may have mentioned this before, but the local bid is currently ongoing, and it's been in the back of my mind since last weekend's Eirtakon to do what little I could to make people aware of it. Although I doubt many here will be going to Helsinki in 2 years time.

Anyway, they chaired a small panel at least weekend's Eirtakon which rather convinced me that their bid was a thing worth supporting - alongside the usualy snarky comparisons to the 'world' series of baseball and the like - and they seemed to have a nice ide of what sort of con they wanted to run.

Will four years out might be a bit early or presumptuous to plan a meet.... it could be a hoot.

Every year Peg and I try to get to whichever of the Harvard or Yale games is played at Princeton.  This year it's Yale, and I'm hoping we beat them as soundly as we did the last time we managed to see a Yale game.
Regardless, we'll have fun, eat out, get a Princeton sticker for the "new" (year-old) car from the U-Store, and generally enjoy ourselves.
If any of you will be watching on cable or whatever, Peg and I will be sitting on the "home" (West) side, in the last straight section before the stadium bends, about ten rows up.  We'll try to remember to wave.

Rereading to get familiar for chapter 5. Good job on kB updates by the way. Start of the first chapter when Professor Trelawney has her vision and speaks in the "other" voice. Immediately popped into my head to be voiced by Keith David and his Goliath voice. Deep, powerful, and far removed from the professor's.

A strong combo package of flight and physical toughness, this song has the minor prerequisite of needing to be activated in a battlefield that has already suffered a significant amount of collateral damage. As such, it makes a nice "second gear" power to pull out if a fight becomes unexpectedly difficult, or to let Doug escape if it turns out to be beyond even his considerable power and versatility. (Or, of course, if whatever objective he has is secured without fully subduing the opposition, or is best served by disengaging and making an expeditious retreat.)

For some time now, I've been working on an alternate-history scenario (not for publication; just to write out the background so I can stop thinking about it).  It mentions in passing the creation of a mostly-economic pact I called the Pacific Commercial Entity (the U.S., China, the Philippines, Hawai'i, Japan, Annam, and a few others).  For several months, I was more-or-less satisfied with that name.  And only today did I realize what I'd get if I made it the  Pacific and East Asian Commercial Entity....
Considering that I'd already stated this group brought together multinational troops to counter at least one invasion, the acronym is quite appropriate.

Aaaaarrrgh.

Voice actress Matsuki Miyu has died.  She was 38; the cause of death was pneumonia.
