* Dad rolled off the bed yesterday, and we had a job getting him unstuck and back upright. No injuries there, but it made for a sleepless night.
* A thump and rattle inthe chimney heralded it acting as f almstor completely blocked, meaning jst one little electric heater to keep the chill off on the coldest night and day so far this year
* While sitting under an electric blanket at the computer, the video suudden[y cut out. All signs so far poit to the graphics card having died, but I don't have a good one to test with. Currently using a decade old, third hand Android tablet for internet access, which holds a charge for aroud ten minutes if taken off the usb cable
* Upon gettingbup to investigate the sudden lack of video, discovered the ablanket had put burns across my toes and ankle, which I did not notice happening and still only sense as an odd tingle even knowing they're there.
* dropped two sets of bandages trying to get the damn thing wrapped up to prevent abrading it and getting shoe scudge in the burns. Keeping burns sterile is really impoetant, so those bandages had to go in the trash.
* have an appointment tomrrow but it's only for getting blood drawn, at an office in the opposite direction from e clinic where they do emergency room stuff. I predict a long and annoyng day trying to get it looked at.
* GDMF onscreen keyboard is my nemesis, and I lack the patience to fix all these typos
* also, it'scold hanging my arms out of the (not electric) blankets

Like that overconfident VFR aviator blundering into thick IMC Elon is sitting there sweating and nervous with the tach in the red, the altimeter unwinding and nothing but the inevitable coming to meet him.

This saga of course began with 50% of twitter's employees discovering they were fired when they logged in in the morning. Apparently, these layoffs were determined completely at random - or by some arcane an foolish metric as it quickly became obvious that some of those people were the people who actually knew how shit worked. They knew where the load-bearing macintosh was.

--But not if they worked from home. It's assumed they've resigned (A real problem for Irish Employees because nobody can afford to live in Dublin anymore.)

Then, the Blue Mark.
Lockheed Martini announcing it would no longer ship weapons to Isreal and Saudi Arabia. It's stock collapsed
Eli Lily announced Insulin was no free for all.  It's stock collapsed.
Chiquita fgloated about overthrowing Brazing (With the *real* chiquita account claiming they haven't done that since 1954)
Dark Brandon didn't announcing the outlawing of Russia and the Launching of the missiles - but I suppose that's only because that account didn't go viral.

Before BC Hydro took on that name and gobbled up almost all the other power companies in the province, it was the BC Electric Railway Company. The BCER ran the streetcar networks in Victoria and Vancouver (and BC Hydro continued to be responsible for public transit until 1980!), and also operated a number of interurban lines.

I've wanted for a while to write up something about BC Hydro in Fenspace invoking this history, probably involving ghostly streetcars or interurban trams, but nothing has gelled so far. One of the big holes in the setting is events below the Kármán Line, and I was hoping to add something small about my corner of the world. The ghost trams probably have something to do with BC Hydro starting to use Handwaved equipment, but I struggle to pin down any details.

I hesitate to post this with so little content, but I don't want to hold the idea in my head forever and possibly forget it, either.
