A 'School Battle Action' anime by Sunrise, slated for 12 episodes.

The story of Arma Tandouji, a surly loner with a heart of gold and a terrible power that makes him terrified to be around other people... for reasons that I won't spoil.  It is also the story of Ruri Aiba, a wealthy heiress, her mecha piloting butler and her small army of elite, commando maids.

- Wait what?

The first episode is up on Hulu and Crunchyroll (for subscribers).  The first episode has everything set up as being a fairly standard (but rare these days) heroic action story about a man with a magical suit of armor and a hand that turns into a gun.  Considering that the writer for this show wrote about half of Speed Grapher, though, I can almost smell a twist coming somewhere.

Come for the gunfist, stay for HELLBRICK.

...in Shadowjack's current Sailor Moon thread over on RPG.net. In the context of Sailor Moon vs. a character from The Wire, http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?578 ... st14118253]Post #176 was made:

Quote:Hey, it's probably not as weird as the image in mine (i.e., dumping Douglas Sangnoir into Baltimore and contriving some reason to get him involved).

No explanation provided of who Doug is, and so far nobody's asked...

  Ordering goodies from Japan
Posted by: ECSNorway - 07-08-2011, 04:42 AM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (14)

Breaking off from the Globalization thread...
I'm considering ordering some Weiss Schwarz singles from one or another Japanese shop (probably orenoturn), but of course there are difficulties. Not just the language, but the post system and the payment methods expected are... a bit different. I was wondering if anyone here might be interested in a joint order of some sort, with the support of an intermediary acting on our behalf there in Japan... Assuming all goes according to plan, tomorrow will be the last launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis and the end of the Space Shuttle program as a whole. The launch is scheduled for 11:26am EST, and will be able to be viewed at http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/135_splash/index.html]NASA's official website. I for one will be watching it live; I'm glad it falls on one of my days off.

I'm sorry.  That popped into my head and wouldn't leave until I shared it with someone else.

Anyone playing RIFT? Not Rifts, the tabletop RPG, but the relatively new fantasy MMORPG. I picked it up last month and it's entertaining enough at the moment. I'm over on Epoch server currently, and was wondering if anyone else was.

There's a fellow over on the SJGames Forums who's doing conversions of the old V&V characters to GURPS, and posting the conversions in http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=1203980]a thread there.

Think we should show him Doug's V&V character sheet?

*awaits to hear the crys of doom and gloom*
but one note

Quote:Energy Aura Revamp
The most exciting part of any powers work for me personally is making improvements to existing power sets. So, porting over Energy Aura to Scrappers gave us a really good opportunity to make some changes to the set. The changes we chose to make were intended to make thematic sense and build upon strengths instead of filling intended weak spots. I won't list the lengthy patch notes here, but I will sum them up for you:
  1. Resistance on the set's auto powers were slightly increased and now include endurance drain protection and slow resistance.
  2. Entropy Shield is now Entropic Aura for Scrappers and Brutes. This power is a taunt aura that grants the user a scaling recharge buff based on the number of foes surrounding the user. The Stalker version of the set doesn't have a taunt aura, but it offers a small Recharge bonus.
  3. Repulse for Stalkers has been replaced by Disrupt, a stun aura.
  4. Energy Drain no longer has a healing component, instead it offers a small defense boost per target hit.
  5. Conserve Energy was replaced by Energize, a self Heal that offers a moderate regeneration and endurance cost reduction boost for a short while. This power works identically to the Electric Armor version.

Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway 2011
Posted by: zojojojo - 07-06-2011, 06:11 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (4)

While this is very much off-topic, I'm going to post it anyway and apologize to Bob if it's not kosher.

On June 26-27th, I rode 150 miles on my bike to http://chaingang.zikzak.us]support research for Multiple Sclerosis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central New England Chapter will use funds collected from the Great Mass Getaway to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we can fight this disease by simply riding a bike, because we have chosen to help thousands of people through a contribution to the MS Bike Tour, we are now getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."

What do you get for your dollar? well...
$1500 - $3,000 – Pays for one-year MS College Scholarship
$500 – Cost for a wheelchair co-pay
$350 – Cost of a ramp to get a scooter into van
$200 - Cost for an air conditioner
$150 – Cost of a shower bench and hand-held shower head
$100 – Cost for arm crutches
$50 – Cost for transportation to a medical appointment
$25 – Cost of home health care for 1-2 hours for one person living with MS

You can find more info about the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at %[link=http://www.nationalmssociety.org]http://www.nationalmssociety.org] and the New England chapter specifically at %[link=http://www.msnewengland.org]http://www.msnewengland.org].

I set myself a (mostly arbitrary) goal of raising $1,500 for this ride (which I have already met, but if I reach $3,000 I get a set of steak knives!), and every little bit gets me that much closer. Please sponsor my ride and help us find a cure for MS.

PS. Bob - if you don't want this on your forums, I'll understand and take it down.

Thanks,
-Z, Post-reader at Medium
