dunno if this has shown up or not (and i have no desire to trawl the forum looking) but:

The Star Spangled Banner (US National Anthem) (it's fiction, so Hendrix on guitar and Joplin on vocals... if that's not enough to stir his gift, nothing is) - Doug's position (whatever defensive structure he's attempting to hold) is unassailable for the duration. All incoming projectile weapons will explode harmlessly overhead, all incoming energy attacks will tint the air red and a USA flag will appear on a flagpole right behind him in a dramatic fashion. He has to be on top of his "defensive structure" as everything above that dramatic flag is considered "sky"

yes, this can make attending pretty much any major event without his tuneplug a pain in the ass.

This story, a Fate/stay night and Familiar of Zero crossover, has had an awesome start. I've always felt that Familiar of Zero wasted a wonderful world and story for cheap fan service. It seems the author of this piece, gabriel blessing, agrees.  The premise is simple--instead of Saito, Louise summons Emiya Shirou after his Grail War experiences, but while he's still alive.

for clients, the big one IIRC is mIRC, but I've been using the same IRC
client since '96, so I'm not one to judge.

As you've probably guessed from the title, DeepDiscount.com is having an anime sale.  Here's a link.  There doesn't seem to be any particular order to the items, which is mildly annoying.
