Just in time for the 6th anniversary, a pic from the THIRD

Linky
This is a Nemesis Horse, it sits all alone, unloved, unused, and depressed in your game client's critter database.
Posi spawned a bunch in the D for the Third Anniversary.

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love
Posted by: HoagieOfDoom - 04-22-2010, 10:13 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (6)

As I mentioned in the Sakura Wars LP thread, I picked up the recently localized Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love for PS2. Well, they dropped the "V" from the title seeing as it's the only game in the series to have been brought to the West.

And if the 48+ hours I've sunk into it in the past three weeks are any indication, it's good. The cast isn't quite as memorable as the original Hanagumi, but still very enjoyable, and the plot is about what you'd expect from the series. (Demons trying to raise a dark lord in a massive metropolis, steam/spirit powered mecha battling said demons, etc...) The battle portions of the game are quite a lot of fun. This is actually probably the funnest SRPG I've played.

The English voice cast... varies. The protagonist has by far the best VA of the lot, which is unfortunate since he has maybe 30 spoken lines in the whole game. Sagiita (Cheiron on the English disc) is passable, Subaru is properly androgynous and clinical, Diana's VA can barely act, Rika (Rosita on the English disc) ended up with a Mexican-Russian accent, and Gemini's "Texas" accent makes my ears bleed. Everyone else with voices is so-so. The various English voices can be previewed http://otakuxgamer.com/?p=4824]here. Go with the far superior Japanese disc if you have a PS2. The game also came out on the Wii, but for whatever reason NIS decided that version would be English only. Boo.

So, I highly recommend it to anyone on this board. I'm off the start playthrough number three.

Is there a EE in the house?

Or someone with some idea of electronics. Cos when I'm not working etc I'm nutting out this:

A stereo amp for headphones powered from a USB port and using 2 LM386 op-amps for processing. The main reason for the RFH is that I feel that what I've come up with is missing something and I'm probably reinventing the wheel in regards with this circuit.

And that image could be better, a PDF's available....

Is Google supposed to crawl the board?
Posted by: Sofaspud - 04-22-2010, 03:03 AM - Forum: Forums - Replies (1)

I've found some searches in Google that directly link to threads on this board... not sure if Google's supposed to be crawling it or not.  And if those count as pageviews, which I think is what your subscription plan is based on.
PM me directly and I'll provide details, if you need them, Bob.

Home is where I want to be but I've
been torn

from out its pages for a need to be reborn

taking all of the last chances I can get

the distance multiplies in rhythm with the debt

For any prayers you send my way that I get by

I'll pay you back when I've returned

I'll pay you back when I've returned

You said the town life's not for me

it wasn't big enough for who I'm meant to be but

it's not easy, taking it along

every street recalls the time I saw you last

every avenue a moment in our past

For every story that I bottle up in time

I'll tell you each when I've returned

I'll tell you each when I've returned

It's getting dark now and there's not much left to say

Just leave a light out each night and I'll find the way

Back to arms and eyes where I want to be found

Not these silhouettes that never make a sound

For any candles that you burn so I might see

I'll pay you back when I've returned

I'll pay you back when I've returned

I'm not sure what this song would do.  Something about it makes me think it would be more than a simple gatesong, but beyond that I don't know.  Sorry.
Any ideas?

  It's 2010 - where's my blues music?
Posted by: robkelk - 04-21-2010, 03:36 PM - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (3)

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2 ... ineup.html]The Ottawa Bluesfest announced their lineup today.

Santana?

Matthew Good??

Joan Jett???

Iron Maiden, for Belldandy's sake???

Out of sixteen headline acts, I don't recognize any of them as blues acts.

Maybe I should start up a blues festival in Ottawa. We don't seem to have one this year...

Can't remember if I mentioned this before, but we ordered some trees to replace the ones we lost in the storm last month.  They will be delivered and planted early this afternoon, and I can't wait to see both the process and the result.
