Managed to rear-end someone today. My car has nasty damage (which could mean the insurer writes it off, and I still owe $2k), I had to pay a $100 ticket, and
now I'm carless.
So, now I have to pay to rent a car (since my insurance doesn't cover Loss of Use, even though I thought it did), because if I don't I can't take
care of my Dad's cat properly. Probably have to pay for a cab too.
*Sigh* Today sucks epically.

This song feels like it should have a power associated with it- it has that 'spark' to it. I just can't think of what it is! Any suggestions?

Come with me in the twilight of a summer night for awhile
Tell me of a story never ever told in the past
Take me back to the land
Where my yearnings were born
The key to open the door is in your hand
Now fly me there
Fanatics find their heaven in never ending storming wind
Auguries of destruction be a lullaby for rebirth
Consolations, be there
In my dreamland to come
The key to open the door is in your hand
Now take me there
I believe in fantasies invisible to me
In the land of misery I'm searchin' for the sign
To the door of mystery and dignity
I'm wandering down, and searchin' down the secret sun
Come with me in the twilight of a summer night for awhile
Tell me of a story never ever told in the past
Take me back to the land
Where my yearnings were born
The key to open the door is in your hand
Now take me there
to the land of twilight
My Unitarian Jihad Name is: Brother Atom Bomb of Courteous Debate. Get yours.

A selection of songs.
First, inspired by a thread in the politics sections
Title:Let There Be Guns
Artist: The Arrogant Worms
Run Time: 2:10
Lyrics
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
There'd be no more crime, 'cause everybody'd have a gun!
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
We wouldn't need the police no more, 'cause everybody'd have a gun!
(Yeah!)
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun? (had a gun)
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun? (had a gun)
Nobody'd ever get shot, 'cause everybody'd have a gun! (Makes sense!)
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
We could go out and shoot things
We could go out and shoot things
We could go out and shoot things
We could go out and shoot things
We could go out and shoot things
We could go out and shoot things
We'd all feel safe, 'cause everybody'd have a gun!
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun? (had a gun)
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun? (had a gun)
Everyone'd be equal, 'cause everybody'd have a gun!
Not me, I got me a rifle!
Well hang on, if you got yourself a rifle then I wanna get me a semi-automatic weapon!
You get a semi-automatic weapon and I'm gonna want an automatic weapon!
You get yourself an automatic weapon, I'm gonna get a super-automatic weapon!
Well if you get a super-automatic weapon, then I'm gonna get a
super-duper-automatic weapon with a CD-ROM drive!
If you get yourself one of those I'm gonna get a
super-duper-automatic weapon with a CD-ROM drive, and a big old hard
drive, and a big guitar amp ...
(rambles on while the rest of the Worms sing)
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had the weapon of their choice?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had the weapon of their choice?
Wouldn't it be great if everybody had a gun?
(Still rambling..)
I'll go so fast I'll be able to chase you from here to Saigon, and
then I'll shoot like little Nerf rockets at you and poke you in the
eye 'cause it'll have automatic like finger-poking in the eye
things...
Youtube link, because reading a rant is never the same as hearing one.
The obvious effect is to arm everyone, friend or foe, inside the area of effect. Should you ever have a peasant mob and feel like storming a castle...
Second, inspired by the fact that it's Arrogant Worms and I have a playlist on my machine at home
Title: Tokyou Love Song
Artist: The Arrogant Worms
Run Time: [TBD, about 3:15 based on Youtube]
Lyrics
I had a love that was so bright
I used to dream of her each night
And then rush to her side every morning (oooh)
I had her all to myself
We never noticed anyone else
We didn't even hear the radio warnings
Our love was no joke, you know
It was the talk of downtown Tokyo
We'll be happy forever, I promised her
But just as I proposed, her feet
Were made to touch her nose
As she was crushed by a Japanese monster
(ohhh-ohhh-ohhh-AAAAAAGH! GODZILLA!)
Our love was so true
But now she's 3 foot 2
And she used to be 5 foot 11
Her death was unintentional
But now she's 2-dimensional
My angel is truly in heaven
She's the one I kiss and hug
Till she was crushed like a bug
I guess it's hard to see a monster above you
She said she'd save her heart for me
But now it's there for all to see
And her last words to me were, "I AAAAAGGHH!"
Our love was so true
But now she's 3 foot 2
And she used to be 5 foot 11
Her death was unintentional
But now she's 2-dimensional
My angel is truly in heaven
(Take it George!)
[Guitar solo consisting entirely of glissandos]
She was young (so young)
And sweet (so sweet)
But now she's part (she's part)
Of the street (the street)
And I want (so much)
To have her back (come back)
So I'll get a putty knife
So I can scrape her from the crack
(Oh. You might need a wider brush.)
Our love was so true
But now she's 3 foot 2
And she used to be 5 foot 11
Her death was unintentional
But now she's 2-dimensional
My angel is truly in heaven
My angel is truly in heaven
My angel is truly in heaven
And Youtube link, because I can't find the CD to give the correct time *mumble, rant, grumble*.
Yes, I know the title on the Youtube linked vid is wrong. No, I'm not uploading one with the correct name.
The effect is a little harder to place here, but it's clearly meant to be used during a giant monster attack. To my mind, that means Tokyo-3. The non-kaiju elements line up fairly well too.

Back of book description:
For two years before she left Iran in 1997, Azar Nafisi gathered seven young women at her house every Thursday morning to
read and discuss forbidden works of Western literature. They were all former students whom she had taught at university. Some came from conservative and
religious families, others were progressive and secular; several had spent time in jail. Shy and uncomfortable at first, they soon began to open up and speak
more freely, not only about the novels they were reading but also about themselves, their dreams and disappointments. Their stories intertwined with those they
were reading - "Pride and Prejudice", "Washington Square", "Daisy Miller" and "Lolita" - their Lolita, as they imagined
her in Tehran. Nafisi's account flashes back to the early days of the revolution when she first started teaching at the University of Tehran amid the swirl
of protests and demonstrations. In those frenetic days, the students took control of the university, expelled faculty members and purged the curriculum. Azar
Nafisi's luminous tale offers a portrait of the Iran-Iraq war viewed from Tehran and gives us a glimpse, from the inside, of women's lives in
revolutionary Iran.
Conclusion: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
---
"Oh, silver blade, forged in the depths of the beyond. Heed my summons and purge those who stand in my way. Lay
waste."

Hi Folks! (^_^)
A while back I promised to post the colour pic that Jeff Moy did of my katana/SR scrapper, Bladestryke.
She's my all-time favourite character...I can't quite define why - might be the costume, might be my leaning towards anything with a Japanese/Anime influence, but she's my preferred scrapper when it comes to laying the smackdown on something.
Anyhow, in her character bio, the Rikti were responsible for killing her older brother in the first Rikti War, and she's held a bit of a grudge ever since. (Hence her signing up with the Vanguard and slaughtering anything that even looks like a Rikti in the Warzone...) Since the Rikti Chief Soldiers are the only boss-type that has so far been able to one-shot her in a stand-up one-to-one fight, I asked Jeff for a picture depicting her private war against the Rikti by showing a duel with a Chief Soldier. And thus we have the picture, titled "Bladestryke's Last Stand??".
![[Image: JM-BladestrykeVsRikti.jpg]](http://www.bgcrisis.com/artwork/JM-BladestrykeVsRikti.jpg)
In other news, here's a picture that Jeff did for me at Anime Central - it's my Martial Arts/Inv. scrapper Captain Vaeria, teamed with her usual sidekick, Atom Lass. (Atom Lass is a character created by my friend Silver Shrike - all characters on the Protector Server. )

Enjoy! (^_^)
