When Doug hits the Sailor Mooniverse, will he make the connection between the senshi and Lisa's brief stint as Sailor Loon in DW2?*********

How about an Alabama cold snap?

Technichally a country song, crude, and fun,
powers:
1. Within 300 feet of L.T. it drops atmospheric temperature to -40 degrees.
2. summons a truck with a working heater (note: fun with random definitons of truck) places L.T. inside truck.
3. Summons a pervert named "Johnny" (Possibly the Driver of said truck, and hopefully outside of the truck.)
The Rodeo Song Gaye Delorme, (1980 Damon Records)
Well it's forty below and I don't give a f*ck
Got a heater in my truck and I'm off to the rodeo
(chorus)
It's an alamana left - an alamana right
Come on you f*cking dummy get your right step right
Get off stage - you God-damned goof you know
You p*ss me off - you f*cking jerk
You get on my nerves
Well here comes Johnny with his p*cker in his hand
He's a one ball man and he's off to the rodeo
(chorus)
Well it's forty below and I ain't got a truck
And I don't give a f*ck 'cuz I'm off to the rodeo

(chorus)
Well here comes Johnny with his p*cker in his hand
He's a one ball man and he's off to the rodeo
(chorus)

search for "The Rodeo Song" and "Canadian Beavers" for a fun cover of this one, and remember to use exact quotes.

As I noted up in General/General, it looks like the ezBoard Restoration Fairy has blessed us with her wand. I'm still confirming the return of data as I go through the boards, but I'm feeling very hopeful.

Perhaps less of a power than a backfire

Look askance
Just a glance
Just enough
To incite the wrath
Of her confidante
Strong though gaunt
And that's how to get your ass kicked
How to get your ass kicked
Never learn
To discern
Areas
Where you don't belong
So you venture out
Head in clouds
And that's how to get your ass kicked
How to get your ass kicked
I know, I know, I know, I know
Driving home,
Bikes in chrome
Cut you off
And you flip them off
And they take their turns
Many turns
And that's how to get your ass kicked
How to get your kicked
I know, I know, I know, I know
In the end
Then is when
You will pray
But you won't be answered
And then you'll go
End of show
And that's how to get your ass kicked
How to get your ass kicked
Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

Sparks, "How To Get Your Ass Kicked"

Like I said, this is more likely to be considered a backfire than a real power; still, if Doug ever has a pressing need to get beaten up for some reason, this song would get the job done. (It also makes another for the growing list of songs to be used with "I'll Play for You" targeted on an enemy... how many of these does that make, now? Three? Six? Has anyone been keeping count? For that matter, is there any reason that trick couldn't be used effectively with just about any 'backfire' song in Doug's repertoire?)
On something of another note, does anyone else think it might be at least slightly interesting to suggest songs which are almost certain to not have any effect for Doug? It's been stated that most songs don't actually trigger his metatalent, but there have been a lot of songs suggested over time, enough that it wouldn't surprise me if that slipped people's minds - it does mine. I have one candidate in mind, because I can't think of any plausible effect (useful or otherwise) the song could have, but I'm not sure how appropriate it would be to post it...

  Too Much: Dave Matthews Band
Posted by: Herr Bad Moon - 06-20-2005, 12:50 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (1)

From their album Crash. If Doug ever wants to do a Haagenti impersonation, I had this mental image of his jaw comically enlarging and taking a bite out of a tank.
Too Much-
Straight in. suck up and go,
Cool it, swallow, swallow
Breathe deep, take it all it comes cheap
Push it through the doors
because in between the lines
I'm gonna pack more lines
so I can get in
Ooh traffic jam got more cars than a beach got sand
Suck it up suck it up suck it up
Fill it up until no more
I'm no crazy creep, I've got it coming to me
because I'm not satisfied
The hunger keeps on growing
I eat too much
I drink too much
I want too much
Too much
I've got to get it somewhere
I mean, you never know, maybe you're dreaming
Who do you think you're watching
Who do you think you need
Play for me, play more.
Ten times in the same day
I need more. I'm going over my borders
I'm going to take more, morefrom you,
letter by letter
I eat too much
I drink too much
I want too much
Too much
I told god I'm coming to your country
I'm going to eat up your cities.
Your homes, you know
I've got a stomach full it's not a chip on my shoulder
I've got this growl in my tummy
And I'm gonna stop it today
I eat too much
I drink too much
I want too much
Too much
Suck it up...

  Spy in the sky

Electric Eye, by Judas Priest
Up here in space
I'm looking down on you.
My lasers trace
Everything you do.
You think you've private lives
Think nothing of the kind.
There is no true escape
I'm watching all the time.
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam.
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean.
I'm elected electric spy
I protected electric eye.
Always in focus
You can't feel my stare.
I zoom into you
You don't know I'm there.
I take a pride in probing all your secret moves
My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove.
Electric eye, in the sky
Feel my stare, always there
's nothing you can do about it.
Develop and expose
I feed upon your every thought
And so my power grows.
Protected. Detective. Electric eye.

Gives Doug control over a spy sat of his choice, or just really, really, really good spying capabilities.*********

  Evanescence: Bring Me to Life
Posted by: DHBirr - 06-18-2005, 12:42 AM - Forum: The Game Everyone Loves To Play - Replies (1)

Valles mentioned this back in '03 as a "magical defibrillator," and that works, I agree. I'm sure I saw another reference to it, too, but now I can't find it anywhere, and I don't recall what the powers were for that one.
But what's been nagging at me is that a month or so ago, I listened to it again, and developed a sudden *very* strong feeling that Doug could use this song to cure people who've become vampires against their will.
"Where I've become so numb without a soul
My spirit sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home"
And then I recalled once or twice seeing vampires under the control of other vampires described as "servitors," and my mind made a wild leap:
Servitor. Servant. Oh....
Possibly that would be too powerful. On the other hand, if it *did* break people free of the Servant Factor, that doesn't mean it'd change the mindsets of those who were villains *before* Arcanum infected them -- it just would mean they're no longer his unconditional loyalists. And it *doesn't* take away their powers.
Subject to approval of your GM, of course. But I felt the need to suggest it.

Yes, the chapter size just jumped from 126K to 139K. We're getting there, finally. A scene and a half got written yesterday, and basically we have a scene and a half more before the chapter is done.
It's that half-scene which is the sticker, by the way. Who'd've thought writing up how Doug meets the sempais would be so hard? I've gone through three different scenarios so far. Not just versions -- entirely different sequences of events. Sheesh.
