From The Drive: Quote:BMW has unveiled a motorcycle designed to represent the company’s view of the future of riding.
The Motorrad Vision Next 100 concept, as BMW calls it, is a pie-in-the sky piece of futuristic design.
Instead of a traditional suspension or steering apparatus, the bike itself bends as needed, always staying upright. The tires also morph as needed, changing their tread on the fly for the best grip.
BMW says that between the self-balancing features and the futuristic aerodynamics, riders could safely use the Motorrad Next 100 without protective outwear – or even a helmet.
Don’t expect to see this bike in your BMW showrooms anytime soon. Like the Next 100 vehicles created for Rolls-Royce, Mini, and BMW’s car division, this Motorrad is strictly vaporware designed to stir up imaginations and provide a preview into the potential future.
Also, a video release....
Edit: Bizarrely, the link no longer goes to the video as originally selected. I've put in a new link; let's see how long this one lasts.

I'm sure that I'd recognize it if I knew anything about modern weaponry.

And I have three weeks before my new job starts to bone up on new web technologies and older ones I've gotten rusty at, like jQuery.
It seems to me that these two things can generate a productive synergy.
So... does anyone have any suggestions for the next generation of www.accessdenied-rms.net? I'd like to have a reason to make the site more dynamic/responsive, but I need something that actually improves it.

[OOC][PLOT] Planning for Arc 1 - Arrivals |

Alright, here we go! A thread specifically so we can plan out the finer details of the plot.
Before we dive in, though, just some bullet points that I have in mind for this first arc.
- Villains will be around, though for the most part the Demons are keeping them contained... for now. This will change about midway through Arc 1, and then things will start to go downward spiral on us. So far, the ultimate big-bad I have in mind so far will be Salem from RWBY, but if anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to them.
- Who all do you think should be counted among the number of villains? Ideally, I'd like at least someone from each of the worlds you're pulling characters from. More would be great.
- I'd like it if things will ultimately start bringing us up into orbit and into space - towards Arc 3, the bigger scene is going to be the galaxy at large, along with maybe a few others.
Alright, so right off the bat, we got the issue of Government Involvement. My two major issues are 1) how do they notice and 2) consequences of their being involved. I already know that the consequences are going to be different from one country to another, and there's going to be some very definite conflict. (Particularly here in the USA, as there'd be some that feel that we're not at all qualified for this sort of thing.)
So, thoughts?

...that I've been unemployed since July 11, when I left my last employer. (Why? Because although they interviewed me as -- and led me to believe I was being hired as -- a .NET developer, my manager decided without consulting me that I was going to become their backup "subject matter expert" in PowerBuilder and a 20-year-old legacy app written in it. I spent 14 months trying to do this while also trying to get reassigned to something that would actually advance my career, to no avail.)
Anyway, the reason I'm mentioning this now is that I just got back from dropping off the paperwork that will make me once again an employee of FastTrackRTW in Bedminster. I'll admit that it's a bit of a step backward in salary and title, but it gets me back to the place where I was happiest in the last ten years, working with people I already know and who want me back. You should have seen the welcome I got when I went in on Friday for an "interview" that was really three friends shooting the breeze for half an hour before getting shown around the new office like it was my first day already.
My "first day" will be October 24. I can't wait.

In a few chapters, and the concordance, there's the word "romanji", which is an incorrect spelling of "romaji". I used to spell it that way too, because it's the kind of word you learn early when dealing with Japanese and accidentally apply English morphology rules to it. Japanese would rather just throw the nouns together in a compound than make an adjective form.
In Chapter 5, you have "Fire bees". That should either be "obscured FireBees and buildings" or the more amusing "obscured fire, bees, and buildings"
And just a comment on Chapter 4: Quote:Yelena Brzezinski. She'd been 25.
A singer and dancer who'd just received her first big break by
getting cast in a production on MegaTokyo's equivalent of
Broadway. It was a revival of a musical that I'd never heard of,
first produced twenty years earlier in 2016. She'd gone to the
Replicants concert with her boyfriend to celebrate getting the
part. The boyfriend was in the hospital, in serious condition
but expected to make it.
She was just cast in Hamilton and was violently killed before her time. Now that's irony.
Reread has been very fun so far, thanks again for writing!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius
Aquarius
Aquarius
Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind's true liberation
