Anybody enjoy DCUO? Care to join me for some stuff? |

I've been taking a break from the usual and laid down a little cash for a sub and some upgrades. Mainly I have for my 3 "main" characters fully kitted bases with amenities that match most of those in the Watchtower.
And I can give permissions to use those for friends. So if you play DCUO and want to use Chrome Seraph's (Hero) or Lily Diamond's (Villain) bases, just let me know and give me a character name for me to add to the respective friends and permissions lists. Also - you can see how I've decked out my bases with whatever random stuff has been dropping. (Chrome actually has two bases - a main one in Metropolis and a smaller "Safe House" in Gotham.)
Just FYI - once permissions are given, you should be able to use anything in the base like vending stations, banks, and research tables. Can't use the Armories. But you can see what my characters are currently wearing in terms of costumes mannequin style (I think - I don't know if that's visible just to me or if anyone can see that).
Mind you - none of this will work if you're only Free-to-Play. You have to be at least at premium level for any of the permissions for base use to work. All that means is that you have to have made a single purchase in their game store. If you're going to do that, I'd highly recommend the Green Lantern DLC, as that opens up the options to make that kind of character.
Anyway - some views for any curious.
Chrome standing on the mid-level of the 3-level back area of her base in Metropolis. ![[Image: YrUCecx.png]](http://i.imgur.com/YrUCecx.png)
In her civvies on the top level where her personal loft is. ![[Image: 5tAF8hF.png]](http://i.imgur.com/5tAF8hF.png)
Main entry area. From left to right - Monitor screens, Main entrance, Mailbox nook, Gear Dispenser, Teleporter (just barely visible by the ring on the floor) and the two armories with the variations in her DPS and Controller gear set-ups. ![[Image: rjl3Pmz.png]](http://i.imgur.com/rjl3Pmz.png)
Her Safehouse in Gotham is much smaller. No 3-level back area. This is set up more like a basic workshop.![[Image: 4OwrF9I.png]](http://i.imgur.com/4OwrF9I.png)
Oh - what's that last armory got in it? Well - Batman is her mentor, and when she's "representing" the Bat, she can reconfigure her armor to something a little more suitable:

(In other words - I finally got enough marks together for a full PVE armor set.)

Okay, now that we have stability again, I want to look into those MP3/soundfile player options. Some time today I'll head back to MediaWiki's page of player extensions and try to decide what one would work best for us. After that, well, it depends on the extension, but I'll probably just make a recommendation to Geth and Brent, and possibly post a link to the documentation page here for other folks to review and add their thoughts.
If this is a go, though, I'd like to ask people to suggest pages where the ability to play back a short sound would be suitable to the subject matter. Off the top of my head, the following seem to be good candidates, and should provide a clear idea of what I'm looking for:
The Minsky Pickup
Shave and a HaircutNoblewoman's LaughKabuki SoundsWilhelm ScreamRimshot(that sequence of 12 notes that says "Arabian Nights" or "Snake Charmer" whose name I'm forgetting right now)

Simulacrum (superhuman Marine): Camouflage by Stan Ridgway |

You don't get as many Marines as Tom Lehrer's Send the Marines but the one you do get is superhumanly strong and competent, rather than the Keystone Cops version.
Best used for defense/bodyguarding or a fighting retreat than assault, due to the leanings of the Camouflage simulacrum.

Someone tell me it aint true
Why my heart belongs to you
Well, at the end of everyday
Ah, you take my breath away
'Cause I'm flyin' high on a rocket in the sky
Sonic boom boy
Ha. Sonic boom boom boy
In the stars I see your eyes
They come to me yeah all the time
hip hop rock to me now
and it aint gonna slow down
'Cause I'm flyin' high on a rocket in the sky
Sonic boom boy
Ha. Sonic boom boom
No one would believe me
This thing could be so easy
just. Just say what's all in my mind
I'll be round some time
I'm flyin' high on a rocket in the sky
Sonic boom boy
Ha. Sonic boom boom boy
I'm flyin' high on a rocket in the sky
Oh, yeah
I'm flyin' high on a rocket in the sky
Sonic boom boy
Ha. Sonic boom a boom boy
Sonic boom boy
You'd think this would be fairly straightforward, a supersonic flight song, but Doug happened to see the video for it and well... it also ups the random chaos feature of his passive AoE by a significant degree. Though usually the results are only temporary with this song, it's enough to put this one well down on his list of flight songs to go through first, unless he specifically WANTS to make strange things happen for some reason.

Quote:Soldier: Hey...
Soldier: Yeah?
Soldier: You ever wonder why we're here?
Soldier: It's one of lifes great mysteries, isn't it? Why ARE we here? Are we the product of some cosmic coincidence or... is there really a god, watching everything - you know, with a plan for us and stuff? I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.
Soldier: What?! I mean why are we out here, in this snow ,on the edge of this dumb lake?
Soldier: Oh... uh... yeah...
Soldier: What was all that stuff about god?
Soldier: Uh... hmm? Nothing.
Soldier: You wanna talk about it?
Soldier: No.
Soldier: Sure?
Soldier: Yeah.
Soldier: Seriously though, why are we out here? As far as I can tell, it's just a frozen lake with no real strategic value.
Soldier: Uh-huh.
Soldier: The only reason we have a base here, is because Steelhead has a base there. The only reason Steelhead has a base there, is because we have a base here.
Soldier: Yeah, that's because we're fighting each other...
Soldier: If we were to leave... today... they would still only have a base at the edge of this lake. Whoop-dee-doo.
Soldier: Hey...
So yeah. That happened... ^_^;

Spent last winter playing in the sandWith the prisoners of the motherlandDamn hotel is feeling like a cell
And even paradise can be so cruelSitting by the swimming poolTrying to keep my head togetherIn that hot Australia weather
Three days to kill and my per diem's getting low'Cause I spent all my money calling long distanceCalling long distance, such a long way from home
Am I talking to long distance, can you put me through?Twelve thousand miles but I've got not resistanceLong distance, long distance, long distance, long distance
Now the Road Hog's face is turning redLarry's still asleep in bedRomeo he can't get no head at allAnd the Doctor looks on so annoyed
You disappoint me, Mr. BoydAnd the Electric Dwarf wishes he was six foot tall
Now Romeo's patience is wearing thin, c'mon baby, let me inIt's five a.m. and I've been creeping 'round the hallGot no resistance calling long distanceYou sound so close but you're such a long way from home
Am I talking to long distance, can you put me through?Twelve thousand miles but I've got not resistancelong distance, long distance, long distance, long distance
Still no points for my merrymen except Ricard, he just scored tenNow Road Hog's getting drunk againAnd I only get to hold my penInstead of what I love to hold the most
I feel so lonesome, I could cryCount the hours as they roll byIt's day time nowI think I'll make a call
Hello long distance, calling long distanceYou sound so close but you're such a long way from homeYou're such a long way from home
Have to admit, I got no resistance to the red light on the wallThe message said I got a callLong distance, long distance, long distance, long distance
