| [meta] Why are the Fivers a Major Faction? |

As I mentioned over in the "One year later" thread, nobody really knows what if anything the Fivers do in Fenspace.
They don't have a major point-of-presence (the folks at Babylon .5 insist they aren't the faction headquarters), they don't have a role in the Convention beyond mediating interfactional disputes (which is being taken over by the Space Patrol's Section 3), and they don't have any named characters or ships.
CGI is a bigger part of Fenspace than the Fivers are, and they're nearly a decade younger than the Interstellar Alliance...
So... why are the Fivers one of the "Big Six" factions? Should they be demoted to Minor Faction status? If yes, should the Big Six become the Big Five, or should somebody else (possibly the Supers) be promoted to take their place?

Okay, little problem here.
I just got my computer back from the local repair shop (I spilled something on the keyboard...not fun), and now, when I try typing on the laptop's keyboard, it puts out random number/letter combinations, and the space bar either refuses to work, or sends me to the menu help.( I'm using a portable keyboard to type this out, so...)
As for Firefox, whenever I scroll down, it starts flipping between regular and full screen views, and i can't find a way to disable it.
FYI:The computer in question is a Dell XPS17 laptop
Thanks for the help!

This morning, before the start of work, I came across a link to an Asuka Peggy Sue fic for Evanglion. I read it at lunch, loved the hell out of it, and now that I'm home I'm looking for the link so I can bookmark it. But damned if I can't find it now. Does anyone even know what I'm talking about? If so, please point me at it. Thanks.

To take advantage of Double Xp weekend I'm going to gather a group for Moonfire which is the Weekly Strike target on Saturday.
As per preference of people I spoke to online we're going to run it in the evening and will be trying for our normal TF time of 7PM Mountain time/9PM Eastern time. If we get more than 8 interested individuals I'll be more than happy to split us up into 2 groups if we have enough, also if you cannot make it Saturday we can probably form another for Sunday. Just speak up in the thread and I'll try to make it happen.
Moonfire Sat 17th 7mnt/9Est
Level 23+
Interested parties thus far: Will Edit the list as folks speak up.
OpMegs
Ankhani
Zilem Kain
Dren
Baseload
Ran-san
Stormgear
DarkSeraph
Edit:Keep up the interest and We'll be able to make 2 teams of 6 easy.

Lots of webstrips...

The folks behind Darths & Droids have already sent this baka a C&D notice. I've forwarded the URL to the creators of Dresden Codak, Girl Genius, Player vs Player, User Friendly, and xkcd. I can't find creator contact information for Sluggy Freelance.
Somebody else tell the other creators, please - I have a meeting in an hour...

I just watched "The Adjustment Bureau." And there was something that kept coming to my mind throughout. We see that despite their powers, the "Adjusters" don't seem to be any stronger or tougher physically than a human. Further, we learned from Harry Mitchell (the friendly Adjuster) that their manpower and resources are spread thin. Most importantly though, was where Harry said that the Adjusters live "a lot longer" than humans, meaning that they aren't immortal; and if something can die, then it can be killed.
So, what if David, or someone like him, rather than merely resist the Adjustment Bureau, as seen in the film, but instead make war upon them, and kill Adjusters, looting their hats so as to be able to, at some point, invade their realm with others, and wreck the "offices," breaking and burning the stacks and files? Or show the Bureau why violating Evil Overlord Rule #1 is a bad idea? If one were to make a large enough dent (and from what we saw, one would have a reasonable shot at doing so), one could make them too few in number and resources to maintain "The Plan," freeing humanity from their grasp, or at least forcing "The Chairman" to reveal itself.
[In case you can't tell, I think "Rage Against the Heavens" is a seriously underused trope. For example, my favorite fantasy work is "His Dark Materials", and with regards to Bleach, I'm far more sympathetic to Sosuke Aizen than to Soul Society.]
