*comes back from reading*

Aw man did you have to cut the chapter there? Though i'm guessing the resolution of the battle will be taking up another whole chapter, as Kunzite calls in whatever preparations he made to take down Jedi. Big Grin

Probably did that because an update was long overdue, there was enough material anyhow, and it made a good enough cliffhanger.

I can hardly wait to see what comes up next, but it sounds like it's going to be totally epic.
Hmm... while our Hiro is having his argument with Tuxedo Kamen over the cristal, and preparing to fight Kunzite and all that... isn't he forgetting that there is an angry cat-youma breathing on his neck? Or do the local drama rules demand that the cat won't finish transforming until after the dark general has fled/died?

AdmiralTigerclaw

The chapter split was planned there from the beginning.

For the most part, the chapter is covered by two tracks from Ace Combat Five:

- ' Ballistic Missile'

and

- 'Scinfaxi'

The next chapter uses the complete track 'Crisis City' from one of the Sonic the Hedgehog games.

So aeronaut. You moved yet? It's been like, two months.

Plus I'm pretty sure the Writers Union (A division of Villain Services International :} ) bylaws require that chapters be ended on points like that. Otherwise the readers wouldn't squirm, and where would be the fun in that.

Glad to know I'm wanted.  Wink
We've been running into one complication after another.  The last straw was when we tried towing my new truck (a 98 Mazda B2500 Extended Cab) with my Mom's Toyota Sienna (with a 3.2 L V-6).  The rig my dad cooked up for mounting the towbar to the truck's bumper-mounts failed spectacularly.  I should have taken pictures, as it's one of those WHOAH! things.  At least I've been able to get the bumper back on securely - should pass inspection without a problem.
Anyhow, this all means we've pushed the move back until the end of June.  Better from a financial standpoint because by then everyone's going to be out of school so we can do this all in one shot.

AdmiralTigerclaw

Good to know you've got a better plan. And I would have to say, any towing mount that's cooked up involving less than steel and welding is suspect in my book.

Almost done with first quarter over here. I've been doing fairly good SO far. But then again, you either have to NOT SHOW UP or TRY to fail the first quarter classes.

I'm determined to max my score so as to pad my stats for the harder classes. Also got a bit of bragging room after finally getting to look at my Acuplacer scores. The Dean's Secretary said those were the highest reading comprehension, sentence structure, and writing scores she'd ever seen. And her reaction when I had done the whole test in 45 minutes was 'shocked'.

*As she's reading the sheet.* "You only took 45 minutes?"

After I explained to her that I spent a lot of time writing, she seemed a little more understanding, but she was still clearly shocked. And honestly, I'm kind of shocked. ITT Tech doesn't see better scores than that? If I continue to blow things out of the water, I'm going to get a swelled head. And I don't wan my head to swell up too soon. (The only thing I want it swoll' with is 'NAWLEJJ'.) I don't want an ego at least until I've graduated with honors or something.

The bolts held - much better than the plates did, though it would have helped if it was a single piece of square-tube cold-rolled steel bolted to the frame instead of two separate pieces of hot-rolled steel.

Congrats on your test score. Sounds kinda like my test scores back in high school. Back then I don't think public schools knew quite how to handle cases like me. I grasped concepts quickly, but hated lingering on the same thing for a week and so I never did the homework - there was simply no challenge in it. But then the teachers would goggle when I consistently scored between 80% and 90% on my tests.

I eventually dropped out (you would too if you were a social outcast and it had been your third high school), but years later when I took the GED test, cold turkey, during Navy boot camp, I nearly aced the damn thing.

Here's to hoping I do better at UT.

AdmiralTigerclaw

Well, our quarter has like, two weeks left in it. And so far up to this point, I've managed to score all but spectacularly. But I'm not holding my breath until I know my 'enemy'.

Understandable, of course. I'd probably be doing the same thing. Good luck!
Just finished the last chapter...getting Usagi to think by using a video game...heh heh..are you sure Ami isn't going to be sucked into it?

I think your SI getting and using a set of Mjolnir armor won't work. If I remember the novel correctly, a normal human using it would tear their muscles and break their bones, due to the speed and power of reflexes of the armor. It took an augmented human to use it properly. Now..Luna OTOH.

I'm wondering where people are getting this Mjolnir armor thought from. I have no intent of getting such armor.

'Cos Mjolnir armour is epic, dude!

Nah, your better off with OSDT (Halo), HEV suit (half-life) or the Powered Combat Vest (HL:Opfor). All though if your wandering drops through Earth-616 (mainline Marvel) Stark Industries might have something interesting and appropriate on offer.

WengFook

I think none of the above since the hero seems to be limited to anime universes, it would be more likely if he was getting power armor it would be from one of those settings.  Big Grin Then again there is the halo anime that was released a while back...

If you look at the routine though, it's more like I'm getting a Build-a-Armor. I've got the 'power suit' component. I've got the right hand glove, I've got a basic helmet. Now I just need armor plate components and upgrades.

EDIT: On a side note, I'll like to fish out all the places the story has been popping up.  A review just pointed me to a board called DoujinStyle, which doesn't appear on my Searches.  And the way google Search's main algorhythm* works, it's I can't backtrack.

(*Google works by links-to as part of its search mechanism.  The more links TO something, the higher it is sorted in the priority list.  So it's hard to find obscure links, or backwards track searches..)

Doing a cross-fora post, I should really contemplate getting an account there & possibly re-establish my EPU one

Um now days it doesn't even need to be a military helo. Some of the current police ones have optics setups which can do that too.

True, and if it were the present day, I'd have to expect some fast talking to explain the Senshi getting away from one.
But... 1990, 1991? Not so much. It's scary, some of the people reading this 'fic weren't even born yet then.

I have enough trouble keeping up with the ones I read now - I don't have time to get accounts on Spacebattles or EPU (or RPG.net), let alone read them. So if you do get accounts there, mention the good threads here, please...

I used to follow EPU's threads, but the long periods of time between updates and the policy that other fanfics are not to be discussed there (IIRC, Ben Hutchins insists what he does isn't fanfic) don't leave much to be discussed between releases.
Is there another term he uses instead?

I'm not going to deny that he has some massive world building going on, but some of the support structures that prop up the world he (and the other writers) have created are the works of others.

As far as I recall from being on the Eyrie boards for, oh, about as long as they've existed, Gryphon is perfectly up-front about the fact that he writes fanfic, and has never attempted to claim it as having any 'literary merit' beyond being a fun ride.

"Yes, and it was glorious."
Well, I'm going for a Space Battles account so I can see what sorts of insanity I can get up to over there (not to mention more closely follow SwtG and ND, among others). Hopefully some of their insanity will rub off on me. Wink

Infrared scanning would had been state of the art for the U.S military by 1989. I have my doubts on whether the Japanese military would have had access to it unless your talking about spy agencies. It would be interesting if a KH-11 got a picture of the battle during a pass. I'm betting WTF!? reaction from the photo intel people at NSC.
